Yamaha GMT 94 Claims Bol d’Or

The Yamaha GMT 94 of David Checa, Sébastien Gimbert and Olivier Four won the race by seven laps ahead of the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team 1, and ten laps ahead of the Suzuki SERT 2 in an incredibly tight race. This is the first race victory for the GMT 94, who were World Endurance Champions in 2004 in this event. Despite the Suzuki 1 missing out on race victory, the SERT team has won the QMMF Endurance World Championship 2007. With the Kawasaki no.11, second in the World Championship classification, not finishing the race, the Suzuki no. 1 has an advantage of 60 points enabling them to claim the World title before the last event, the Doha 8 Hours in Qatar in November.

Battle underway between Yamaha GMT 94 and Suzuki SERT 1

After three hours of racing at the Bugatti circuit today, Yamaha GMT 94 leads the way, closely followed by the GSX-R1 of the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team. The battle between these two favourites is being extremely tightly fought-out. Not far behind is the Suzuki 2 of SERT, followed by the ZX-10R of Team Kawasaki France and the Yamaha Austria Racing Team.

SERT Dominate Final Qualifying Ahead Of Yamaha GMT 94

Two Suzuki Endurance Racing Team machines will begin this weekend’s Le Mans 24hrs as favourites. On the GSX-R 2, William Costes, Guillaume Dietrich and Max Neukirchner improved upon their fastest lap-times during today’s second round of qualifying. The Suzuki Team sits at the top of the qualifying board with an average riders’ time of 1’39.229. The GSXR-R 1 ridden by Vincent Philippe, Julien Da Costa and Matthieu Lagrive also improved during the second round of qualifying, taking second place just in front of the Yamaha GMT 94.

SERT And Yamaha GMT 94 Head-To-Head At First Qualifying

The GSX-R no. 2 of the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team has taken first place in the first qualifying round of Le Mans 24hr, which took place on this afternoon. SERT rider, William Costes was the only rider to come in under the 1’39 bar, achieving the fastest time on the Bugatti circuit, 1’38.733. The Suzuki no 2 takes pole position in the provisional qualifying. with good times achieved by his team-mates, Max Neukirchner (1’39.361) and Guillaume Dietrich (1’39.969). This season, positions on the starting grid will be determined by the average of the best times of the top three riders, at the end of the second round of qualifying, which takes place at Le Mans on Friday afternoon.
