Jeremy McWilliams, riding a Buell XBRR for the combined Warr’s of London Harley-Davidson/Buell (Great Britain) and Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell (New Berlin, Wis.) teams, qualified 11th for the Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme event at the 2006 AMA Superbike Championship at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
The recently launched Buell XBRR limited-edition racing motorcycle will make its debut at the 2006 Daytona 200 (March 11), the AMA Formula Xtreme season opener. Four Buell dealership teams are set to compete in Daytona including London’s Warr’s Harley-Davidson/Buell and Germany’s Hannover Buell. Former 250 GP and Moto GP star Jeremy McWilliams spearheads the Warr’s challenge in Florida and 2005 BMW Motorrad Power cup rider Rico Penzkopfer rides for Hannover Buell.
At last, a manufacturer of sportbikes has realised what UK riders have known for the last two or three years; sportbike riders are being targeted by the Police for revenue, so buying a pure track bike is a licence preserving alternative. So Buell have decided to make the Buell XBRR Production Racer aimed at the British market. It's a shame that Buell are only going to only be making a very limited edition of 50 of these track orientated bikes, and there's no word on price yet.
