Suzuki - MX1 World Champions!
04 September 2007
Steve Ramon, Team Suzuki and the RM-Z450 wrapped up the Rider's and Manufacturer's FIM MX1 Motocross World Championships with third position overall yesterday through the rough and dark sand of Lierop for the Grand Prix of the Netherlands and the final round of the 2007 series as Kevin Strijbos won his fourth GP of the season. The 27-year-old Belgian lifted his first crown in the category after taking 22 points for second place in the first moto. The result gave him a superior numerical advantage of 35 going into the last race of the season in which he took third spot.

Strijbos Wins As Ramon Closes In
19 August 2007
Team Suzuki's Kevin Strijbos took his third win of the season and Steve Ramon recovered from a pair of first lap crashes to finish fifth and close to within 12 points of the FIM MX1 World Championship lead at a cold, deep and rutted Moneyglass Demesne circuit for the Grand Prix of Northern Ireland. Surprisingly for a mid-August meeting the weather at the 13th round of the MX1 World Championship was cold, rainy and windy over the weekend. The new venue has been constructed with a view towards the 2008 Motocross of Nations and although Saturday's schedule was slashed to a single session due to excessive rain and the debilitating effects on the track, Sunday was dry but blustery and with low temperatures.

Strijbos 2nd In Wet Ireland
19 August 2007
Kevin Strijbos made the most of a vastly-reduced practice and qualification programme during a rain-swept first day of the Grand Prix of Northern Ireland to post the second quickest lap-time just ahead of team-mate Steve Ramon. The 13th round of 15 in the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship at Moneyglass Demesne started on a soggy note with constant rainfall on Friday and through Saturday that washed out the new track and caused the timetable to be shortened to a 15 minute practice followed by a 30 minute chrono for both classes.

Ramon Chases MX1 Series Lead
16 August 2007
Team Suzuki's Steve Ramon will head to the Grand Prix of Northern Ireland at the new Moneyglass Demesne circuit for the 13th round of 15 in the 2007 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship with a realistic opportunity of taking the lead in the series for the first time this season. Current pace-setter Josh Coppins will miss his second meeting in succession with a fractured shoulder and the 27 year old Belgian can shrink the 43 point deficit down to nothing with the first of three Grands Prix in three weeks and still 150 points left to win.

Ramon Closes on Series Lead
07 August 2007
Steve Ramon has closed to within 43 points of injured World MX1 Championship leader Josh Coppins after taking fifth place at his home GP at Namur in Belgium - round 12 of the series. The fourth-to-last meeting in the 2007 campaign saw both Ramon and Kevin Strijbos guide their works RM-Z450s to fifth and sixth positions respectively in what was a busy home Grand Prix for the squad. The Namur circuit provided its usual perilous test: The bumpy and dusty tree-lined track was extremely narrow and permitted very few clear-cut passing opportunities. Both slippery and rough the mud also saw occasional tree roots coming through the terrain presenting an additional hazard in what was an already very quick course.
