SERT Extends Endurance Lead

Defending World Endurance Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team have extended their lead in the 2008 championship by taking victory at the 6 Horas Nocturnas de Albacete in Spain. Vincent Philippe, Julien Da Costa and Guillaume Dietrich race their GSX-R1000 to a two-lap victory ahead of Spanish privateers Josep Sarda, Kenny Noyes and Bernat Martinez of the Suzuki Catala team and Bolliger Switzerland's David Morillon, Patric Muff and Horst Saiger.

Suzuki Clinches The Title!

Suzuki has clinched the 2006 World Endurance Championship after winning today’s final round at Magny Cours in France. Suzuki Endurance Racing Team rider Keiichi Kitagawa crossed the Bol d’Or line at 3pm local time on his Castrol Suzuki GSX-R1000 after 24 hours of racing, 13 laps ahead of nearest rivals Yamaha Austria Racing Team.

Suzuki Castrol’s number two team rider Julien da Costa has taken pole position on his GSX-R1000 for tomorrow’s final-round Bol d’Or World Endurance Championship round in France. Amid persistent rain throughout the day, World Champions Suzuki Castrol’s Vincent Philippe was fastest in the first group of riders on the track in the morning session with a time of 2:02.059. In the second group, da Costa went faster with a 2:00.841 to beat National Motos Honda's Olivier Four on 2:01.566.

Edwards And Haga Reunite For Suzuka 8-Hour

Yamaha has finalized its plans for round five of the 2006 Endurance World Championship, the Suzuka 8-hour race held at the Japanese circuit on 30 July. A three-team entry will be headed by the Yamaha Blue Racing team, which will feature riders Colin Edwards and Noriyuki Haga riding a specially prepared YZF-R1 SP. The event will mark a reunion of the rider pairing which won the event in 1996, when they rode a Yamaha YZF750SP.

Suzuki Wins Albacete World Endurance

Suzuki Castrol has won the Albacete 8 Horas Nocturnas round of the FIM World Endurance Championship and increased its series lead to 39 points after three rounds. GSX-R1000-mounted Keiichi Kitagawa, Matthieu Lagrive and Vincent Philippe ran a consistent race which was incident packed from the start.
