Hammers Face Wolves In Vital League Match
08 July 2008
The next task for the high flying Lakeside Hammers Speedway team is to defeat Wolverhampton in a vital Sky Sports Elite League match at their Arena-Essex Raceway this coming Friday, 11th July. Historically Wolverhampton have fully tested the Hammers around their Essex circuit in the past so the Hammers will go into this meeting in a very determined mood. The present difference in the League positions of the two sides will mean nothing on the night as the Hammers will be looking to keep their 2008 undefeated home League record intact. The Hammers are currently in third place in the Sky Sports Elite League whereas the Wolves are just one place above the bottom club, Coventry, who won all the major team championships last season.

Speedway Elite League Match Against Wolverhampton Rained Off
07 June 2008
Friday evening's Eite League Speedway match at the Arena-Essex\Raceway between the Lakeside Hammers and Wolverhampton was called off less than two hours before the expected start time due to the track being waterlogged. Despite rain in the area for most of the day the Arena-Essex Raceway had remained dry until heavy rain hit the track around 5.45pm. After just 15 minutes the track had large puddles on it and the Club were faced with no option but to call the match off. This decision proved to be the correct one as the rain continued past the due start time and resulted in racing not being possible.

Hammers Delight Over Win At Wolverhampton
23 April 2008
The Lakeside Hammers riders, management and supporters were all delighted with Monday evening’s superb victory in their Sky Sports Elite League match up at Wolverhampton. Despite falling behind in the early stages the whole team raised their games and eventually came out easy winners. The home side led by six points after just four heats and although the Hammers gained 4-2 heat wins in the sixth and seventh races the Hammers did not take the lead until heat 10, when Joonas Kylmakorpi and Adam Shields claimed a maximum 5-1 heat advantage over the Wolves No1 Fredrik Lindgren and Ales Dryml. That put the Hammers two points up but that soon doubled to four points when Andreas Jonsson defeated the in-form David Howe with the young Hammers reserve Ricky Kling picking up the point for third place.
