Steve Martin Puts In The Miles

Hot off the heels of returning from the Suzuka 8 Hour World Endurance race, Steve Martin was back in a World Superbike seat last week in the Brands Hatch heat before heading to Germany today to compete in the Oschersleben round of the World Endurance Championship this coming weekend. Steve commented, "It's been a pretty busy month what with commentating, testing and racing all back to back, but I've really enjoyed being back racing and also the variety of races I've been competing in and bikes I've been riding on."

Will Virgin Media Have The Luck Of The Irish?

Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha heads across the Irish Sea to Mondello Park for round six of the 2007 Bennetts British Superbike Championship this weekend, 15 - 17 June. Recent signing, Hudson Kennaugh will partner Tommy Hill on the Pirelli-shod Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike. Both riders will be eager to score a brace of solid point-scoring rides at the complex circuit. The Virgin Media Yamaha Supersport pairing of Billy McConnell and Tom Grant are keen to transform their season-long strong qualifying performances into deserved podiums.

Haydon Injured In Mountain Bike Crash

In a cruel twist of fate, James Haydon has suffered a shoulder injury while out training on his mountain bike. James was undertaking his usual training regime in preparation for round four of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park over the May Bank Holiday weekend. An initial examination revealed ligament damage to his left shoulder. Doctors have advised that he takes time out to rest in order to minimise the recovery period.

Virgin On Top At Snetterton

After two days of arctic conditions at the Norfolk circuit, the Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha riders were greeted by radiant sunshine for the final day of the official 2007 Bennetts British Superbike test. It was well worth the wait with three of the four riders finishing in the top 4 of their respective classes. The Snetterton track layout lends itself for an ideal proving ground, with two of the longest straights linked by a series of fast corners and testing chicanes. Amidst a flurry of media photo calls, the riders finally took the circuit for the second planned session of the day.
