Fresh from its successful weekend at Knockhill the STP Motorsport team had a hectic week including a test at Cadwell Park with the MV Agusta F4 1000 followed by a winning return to Castle Combe with Victor Cox on his Yamaha R1. Using the opportunity to get some valuable track time the STP Motorsport MV Agusta team attended the annual MV Agusta Owners track day at Cadwell Park. For most of the day the weather was dry, allowing Chris Burns to put in some fast laps and get some good feedback ahead of this weekend’s race meeting at the Lincolnshire circuit.
Etchilhampton rider Tommy Bridewell scored his first win in three long years when he took a sensational victory in today's Castle Combe Grand National meeting in front of a bumper local crowd. Riding the 1000cc Naturally Best Suzuki the 19-year-old Wiltshire rider followed up a battling fourth place in the opening leg with a fantastic victory in race two to send the local crowd home happy.
More top class big bike racing is scheduled for the 2008 season at Castle Combe with the announcement that the Wiltshire circuit will be once again hosting the now traditional Castle Combe Superbike Grand National on the weekend of the 16th and 17th August. As well as some top class club racing and the two feature races, race fans will be treated to the sight and sound of BSB star Leon Haslam who will be demonstrating the HM Plant Honda Superbike at the Fowlers-sponsored motorcycle meeting.
