Best Weekend of the Season for Troy. Ruben Injured

The work done away from the track, together with the recent successful Italian tests, all added up to Brno being the best weekend of the season to date. Troy finished a superb fifth in race one, after leading the first couple of laps, and followed that up with a tenth in race two, despite tyre problems.

Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport riders Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus finished Superpole with the 15th and 16th fastest laps and will start alongside each other on the fourth row of the grid at Donington tomorrow. The team had some new parts from Munich to evaluate, so most of the day was used working with these instead of chasing lap times.

Troy Frustratingly Close to Front Two Rows

Troy easily qualified for Superpole 2 today, but a small clutch problem prevented him from lapping as quickly as he had done in Superpole 1 and he lost the chance of getting on the first two rows of the grid.

After the disappointment in USA in the last round, Troy and Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport got back to the fine form they showed before the two flyaway races and ended the first day of qualifying happy with a top ten place.

Frustration and Disappointment in USA

It was a day of disappointment and frustration for Troy in the seventh round of the Superbike Word Championship at the Miller Motorsport Park, USA. The two days of practice and qualifying had already been a frustrating affair and today was no better - though this time the problems were not solely bike-related.

Two Thousandths of a Second Between Troy and Superpole!

After a difficult Friday and not so easy Saturday, Troy was on course for getting into Superpole qualifying, until a red flag came out on his hot lap right at the end of final qualifying. Haga’s fall caused the red flag, less than three minutes from the end of qualifying, and although the session was restarted, Troy did not have enough time to go any faster.

Troy 14th on Opening Day at Miller

Troy Corser finished the first day of practice and qualifying at the Miller Motorsport Park in 14th place despite problems with grip. He also suffered a few ‘moments’ in today’s two sessions, but was able to recover and not crash.

Troy Corser: What A Disaster Monza Was!

Troy Corser will not be racing in Kyalami this coming weekend. The Aussie took a severe battering in two hard crashes in Monza last weekend and it was felt that it would be better for him to give the South African round a miss and get fully fit for the USA round.

Troy Corser Survives Horror Crash!

On the opening lap of the first race, Troy was hit by another rider and crashed. While he was on the deck, another crashed bike struck the back of his neck and smashed his helmet down on the floor. He struggled to his feet and staggered off the track and collapsed on the grass, totally winded and out of breath. The marshals put him on a stretcher and took him to the ambulance, but after recovering his breath he got to his feet and walked back to the pits. He was battered and bruised, but decided to take part in the restart.

WSB Roundup: Wins For Fabrizio (Ducati) And Spies (Yamaha) At Monza

Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox) and Ben Spies (Yamaha World Superbike) shared the wins in an exciting fifth round of the Hannspree FIM Superbike World Championship at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. 118,000 spectators witnessed Fabrizio’s maiden Superbike win in race 1 and Spies making amends in race 2 for his first race disappointment, when his Yamaha ran out of fuel at the final corner. Noriyuki Haga (Ducati Xerox) crashed out in race 2 after being hit by a bird but still leads the table with a 54 point advantage over Spies.

Troy Starts with a Superb 8th in Race One

Troy took the all-new BMW Motorrad Motorsport S 1000 RR to a tremendous eighth place in the opening race of this year’s Superbike World Championship and managed to also set the fastest lap of the race! Considering that Troy had to start from the fifth row of the grid and that this year’s series is the most competitive in WSBK history, Troy’s achievement on a brand new bike is nothing short of spectacular.

Troy Survives Nasty Moment!

Early in the afternoon on the final day of the two day test at Phillip Island, Troy had a nasty moment when he hit a bird at over 230 kph! The force of the impact pulled Troy’s left hand from the handlebars and Troy had to fight to control his BMW S 1000 RR with just his right hand.
