Tyla Rattray the Red Bull KTM Hero of MX2

Red Bull KTM's South African rider Tyla Rattray came, saw and conquered the rough track at Teutschenthal, Germany on Sunday with a 2-1 result for overall victory. Rattray's second race left no-one in doubt that he is hot property and determined to go to his home GP in South Africa as the holder of the red number placte as the championship leader. Rattray came in second in the first race behind title holder and arch rival Antonio Carioli but was supreme in the second, amassing a lead of some 30 seconds in the closing stages, enough to coast home and enjoy the adoration of the crowd on the way back to the chequered flag.

Successful British MXGP for KTM

KTM rider Jonathan Barragan was celebrating last night after taking the overall win in the MX1 Grand Prix of Britain on Sunday after he was third and first in the two individual motos. The Spanish rider from the KTM supported Team Silver Action was in brilliant form on the man made track at Mallory Park, the first time the MX World Championships had competed on the varied and technically challenging circuit.

A perfect Grand Prix of Great Britain got underway at the brand new facility of Mallory Park, with a massive crowd of 41,000 people showing up to see the best Motocross series in the world which will come back to the Island on September 28th for the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations at Donington Park. Jonathan Barragan took his maiden MX1 victory today in dry conditions while Antonio Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix to take also the red plate. Peter Iven took a clean sweep at round two of the Veterans’ World Cup winning both heats and storming to the top of the standings.

FIM MX World Championship Discovers Mallory Park

Great Britain will play host to the sixth round of the FIM Motocross World series this weekend on the brand new course at Mallory Park, which was built inside the famous road racing facility. David Philippaerts leads the MX1 standings since the Portuguese Grand Prix while Tyla Rattray and Tony Cairoli are still battling tooth and nail for the MX2 lead, currently owned by the South African. In occasion of the British Grand Prix, the FIM Veterans’ Motocross World Cup will restart with the second of three rounds. Dutchman Toine van Dijk leads the points standings after Spain with home rider and last year’s Cup winner Dave Thorpe ready to fight back.

World Motocross Championship – Mallory Park

The World’s best Motocross riders are due to hit British shores on the weekend of the 31st May/1st June for round six of the FIM World Motocross Championships. The event is to be staged for the first time at the very central Mallory Park Circuit, Leicestershire. After months of planning the new track is now completed in preparation for the top MX riders to come and demonstrate their skills and talents and prove why they are at the elite of the elite in their sport. There will be entertainment for all the family, a beer tent plus live bands will be performing alongside a huge fun fair to meet the requirements of all the fans that are set to attend the two day meeting.

Rattray & Searle Take Minor Podium's in Mantova

Red Bull KTM factory rider Tyla Rattray of South Africa overcame flu to race to second podium place in the Grand Prix of Italy on the sandy Mantova circuit on Sunday while teammate Tommy Searle was third. Despite a formidable finish by title holder Antonio Cairoli of Italy in the second MX2 race of the day, Tyla was able to amass 42 championship points to keep ownership of the coveted red number plate as the championship leader. After five rounds, Rattray now has 199 points, a mere three point lead on his arch rival, while Tommy Searle, his Red Bull KTM factory teammate is close behind with 191 points. Searle finished third in Mantova.

Philippaerts Enters Home GP of Italy with Head High

After visiting Sevlievo, the FIM Motocross World FIM Motocross World series including the MX1, MX2 and the Women riders will head to Mantova, Italy, for the fifth meeting of the 15 races calendar –second meeting of the five races calendar for the Women World Championship. MX1 rider David Philippaerts enters the Lovemytime Grand Prix of Italy, his home Grand Prix, as the series leader and the winner of the latest Grand Prix, while countryman Antonio Cairoli will try to get the MX2 red plate back from current leader Tyla Rattray.

Philippaerts Takes First Yamaha Win to Build on Championship Lead

A fantastic Grand Prix of Bulgaria took place today under mixed weather conditions, with sun and rain showers falling throughout the whole day, making the track more slippery for the second heats. The event was attended by 27000 spectators enjoying the show on this incredible venue, which won the best organizer awards in 2006 and 2007. MX1 Championship leader David Philippaerts kept the red plate by winning this fourth Grand Prix of the season while Tommy Searle won the MX2 overall with team mate Tyla Rattray getting the red plate back. The two mounted on an all KTM podium which was completed by Shaun Simpson.

Searle Tops MX2 Podium

Red Bull KTM factory rider Tommy Searle stopped the hearts of all spectators of the second MX2 moto in Sevielo, Bulgaria on Sunday when he swept past fellow KTM rider Shaun Simpson in the last seconds of the race to take the top podium spot in the GP. On a day when rain fell to soften the hard track and reshuffle the cards just before the second MX2 moto, Red Bull KTM's Tyla Rattray made a good comeback from a tussle with Toni Cairoli in the second moto to finish overall second. Shaun Simpson was on the podium for the first time in third place to complete a complete clean sweep of the podium for KTM.

The FIM Motocross World Championship is back to Sevlievo, the venue winner of the Best Organizer Awards of 2006 and 2007. Today was a rainy day in the area of Sevlievo, with the sun coming out only at mid afternoon and the trackbeing currently wet. Yamaha Monster Motocross’ David Philippaerts enters this fourth round with the red plate on his factory Yamaha; this is the first time the Italian has to defend the Championship lead and he will surely face a strong opposition, headed by current runner up and defending MX1 World Champion Steve Ramon of Teka Suzuki WMX1.

FIM MX World Champioship Back to Work at Sevlievo

Following a week break from Grand Prix racing, the fourth round of the 2008 series will get underway this weekend at the beautiful circuit of Sevlievo, in Bulgaria. The first meeting of the month will see a completely different situation compared to the pre Agueda points standings. David Philippaerts is now leading the MX1 class with Italian countryman Tony Cairoli back on top of the MX2 classifications courtesy of his Portuguese double victory. Though with 12 rounds to the end the Championship is still to be decided.

Pourcel & Cairoli Win Portuguese Thriller at Agueda

The Portuguese Grand Prix got underway today in front of 18000 fans who saw two Italians David Philippaerts (MX1) and Antonio Cairoli (MX2) clinch the World Championship lead at the end of an eventful weekend. The MX1 Grand Prix was won by Sebastien Pourcel, to close a perfect weekend as he clocked also the pole yesterday. Philippaerts was second overall while countryman Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix from KTM fellow riders Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle.

Ratteray-Cairoli Wrestle Set for Toda’s Portuguese GP

It was a great opening day in Agueda, the host of the third Grand Prix of 2008 which welcomed the Motocross collective with very hot weather conditions. Sebastien Pourcel clocked a stunning pole position in the MX1 class, collecting his second consecutive Lovemytime Pole Position Award after his first pole of 2008 in Spain last weekend. Tyla Rattray is also on a season high, winning his third consecutive qualifying heat and bringing home the Lovemytime Qualifying Award together with his closest rival in the Championship, Antonio Cairoli, who won the qualifying moto one to get his first win of 2008.
