Royal Enfield will be exhibiting for the first time at the 2007 Thundersprint (12-13 May 2007) giving the 130,000 visitors an opportunity to check out the latest models from the oldest surviving motorcycle manufacturer in the world. Royal Enfield has enjoyed a renaissance in the UK since distribution was taken over by Watsonian Squire in 1999 and last year they outsold Moto Guzzi and Buell in this country.
British Superbike star Leon Haslam wheelies and slides his Ducati 1000 and the crowd screams for more. The howls of classic Honda fours and Gilera GP bikes bounce off the walls of the town centre stores: you just know that there is no-where else this could be but the Thundersprint in Northwich town centre.
The Thundersprint is the world's biggest biking street party. We expect at least 100,000 spectators, more if the weather is good. The Thundersprint consists of sprint racing in the town centre, over a mile of trade stands and a mammoth amount of entertainment. Everything, including entry, parking and grandstand seating is free for spectators. The Thundersprint has played host to many famous riders but the red carpet will really be rolled out for 22 year old Superbike star Leon Haslam when he takes to the unique Northwich town centre track on Sunday 7 May.
If you have any interest in motorcycling, then Northwich Town Centre is the place to be on Sunday 7th May for the ninth Thundersprint, sponsored by eBike Insurance. Free entry, free grandstand seating and free parking ensure that the Thundersprint is the best value in motorcycle sport. Each year a bigger and better Thundersprint is promised and this year’s event looks certain to be the best ever. The centre of the action will be the ultra tight twisty sprint circuit laid out right in the town centre. Spectators can get close enough to smell the oil baking on these old warhorses and peer down the carburettor bell mouths: truly a unique experience when compared to sanitised modern motorsport.
