Teka Suzuki Optimistic For German MX1

This weekend's Grand Prix of Germany marks the halfway point in the 2008 FIM MX1 Motocross Word Championship as the Teutschental circuit hosts the eighth round of the 15 round series. And Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker will be looking for stellar results race as the MX1 series really starts to heat up.

Ramon Increases Belgian Series Lead

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker contested the second round of the United Telecom Belgian Motocross Championships held at Kester this weekend with Ramon increasing his series lead. The grassy woodland circuit was in excellent condition for the championship races and over 7000 race fans turned out to support their heroes. Ramon, who is the reigning Belgian and World Motocross Champion, finished second overall on the day with a strong 1-2-2 scorecard after battling hard with Josh Coppins, but was able to increase his championship lead over team-mate De Dycker.

Suzuki Men Close In On MX1 Lead in France

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker - who currently sit in second and third place in the FIM MX1 World Motocross Championship - will enter the seventh round of the series at Saint Jean d'Angely in France this weekend looking to close the points gap on series leader David Philippaerts.

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Ken De Dycker and Steve Ramon dominated the opening moto of the British Motocross Grand Prix at Mallory Park to finish first and second on their factory RM-Z450s. Backing their opening display of dominance up with solid rides in moto two the pair of Belgian racers were able to finish second and fourth overall with De Dycker being the podium visitor. The Mallory Park circuit was in prime condition for today's races and when the gate dropped for moto one of the sixth round of the FIM World Motocross Championship, both Ramon and De Dycker were away in the top six. But the great start did De Dycker no good as he got tangled in a turn two pile up with Marc De Reuver and David Philippaerts and started dead last while Ramon ran a steady third.

Mixed Fortunes for Suzuki Men in Italy

It was Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 rider Ken De Dycker's turn to narrowly miss out on a podium place this weekend as the former MX1 championship leader emulated his team-mate Steve Ramon's luck of last week - in Sevlievo - by losing out on a top-three overall finish by next to no points. Ramon, meanwhile, had a "weekend to forget" and could only muster a ninth place overall finish after two gruelling motos at the Mantova circuit during the Grand Prix of Italy - the fifth round of the 15 round FIM Motocross World Championship.

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 rider Steve Ramon will enter the fifth round of the FIM MX1 World Motocross Championship at Mantova in Italy this weekend looking to close the points gap on series leader David Philippaerts. Ramon - who is the reigning MX1 World Champion and currently sits in second place in the 2008 series - proved at round four in Sevlievo, Bulgaria that his race pace is better than the current championship leader, but poor starts have been making it difficult for him to beat the Italian rider in a straight-up race.

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker will be looking for good results at this weekend's Grand Prix of Bulgaria held at the spectacular Sevlievo circuit during round four of the FIM MX1 World Motocross Championship. Currently sitting second in the MX1 series, just six points behind the leader David Philippaerts, is reigning MX1 World Champion Steve Ramon. After winning last year's World Championship without winning a single moto, Ramon has been on much better form in 2008 and totally dominated in the muddy conditions of Bellpuig on his factory Suzuki RM-Z450 to win his maiden MX1 GP overall.

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1's Steve Ramon won the overall at the Flanders Trophy motocross in Tongeren, Belgium ahead of team-mate Ken De Dycker and Jonathan Barragan. The reigning MX1 World Champion won both the first and third motos of the non-championship international event held in the eastern region of Belgium and finished third in the other to take a relatively easy overall victory.

Tough Time for Teka Suzuki in Portugal

The Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 win streak in the 2008 FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship was finally broken at Agueda in Portugal as neither reigning MX1 World Champion Steve Ramon or series leader Ken De Dycker could finish on the podium on what proved to be a very tough day for the Teka team. In hot and sunny conditions - completely different to those experienced in Spain just one week earlier - Ramon was able keep a hold of his second place in the series with 6-4 finishes while De Dycker turned a six point lead into a 25-point deficit after suffering all weekend long with blistered hands which caused him to struggle to get to grips with the Agueda circuit.

Pourcel & Cairoli Win Portuguese Thriller at Agueda

The Portuguese Grand Prix got underway today in front of 18000 fans who saw two Italians David Philippaerts (MX1) and Antonio Cairoli (MX2) clinch the World Championship lead at the end of an eventful weekend. The MX1 Grand Prix was won by Sebastien Pourcel, to close a perfect weekend as he clocked also the pole yesterday. Philippaerts was second overall while countryman Cairoli won the MX2 Grand Prix from KTM fellow riders Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle.

It was a great opening day in Agueda, the host of the third Grand Prix of 2008 which welcomed the Motocross collective with very hot weather conditions. Sebastien Pourcel clocked a stunning pole position in the MX1 class, collecting his second consecutive Lovemytime Pole Position Award after his first pole of 2008 in Spain last weekend. Tyla Rattray is also on a season high, winning his third consecutive qualifying heat and bringing home the Lovemytime Qualifying Award together with his closest rival in the Championship, Antonio Cairoli, who won the qualifying moto one to get his first win of 2008.

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 riders Ken De Dycker and Steve Ramon - who are currently running first and second in the MX1 World Championship - both qualified inside the top eight for tomorrow's GP of Portugal, the third round of the series. Conditions at the technical Agueda circuit were perfect as great weather and constant grooming kept the red-soil surface in prime condition for the official timed practise session.

In occasion of the FIM Motocross Grand Prix of the Netherlands to take place this weekend, April 5th and 6th, at Valkenswaard, Suzuki decided to present its Motocross racing activities at the GRP (Geboers Racing Promotion) headquarters, in Lommel, Belgium. 2008 will see Suzuki’s strong involvement both in the MX1 and in the MX2 classes with the RM-Z machines.
