Tremendous Win for Xavi
Team Alstare Suzuki rider Xavier Simeon won the third round of the 2008 Superstock 1000 FIM Cup at Monza today after leading the race from start to finish. Xavi started from the third row of the grid, but made a superb start and was third going into the first corner. It was just as well that he was so far up the field, for behind him a rider had crashed braking for the turn and then skittled ten riders and their bikes! Despite there being bikes and riders all over the first chicane, by the time Xavi and the rest of the depleted field came round again the track was clear. Xavi then controlled the race from the front and ran out the winner by over two seconds, with Matej Smrz (Honda) second and Alessandro Polita (Ducati) third. Xavi’s win also moves him into first place in the championship, with a fifteen point lead over Polita.

Alstare Suzuki's Max Neukirchner On The Front Row For Monza!
It took a new lap record by series leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati) to deprive Alstare Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner of a Superpole win at Monza today. Bayliss smashed Noriyuki Haga’s 2007 time by well over a second, to take his third Superpole win of the season.

Third Row Start For Xavier Simeon Due To Engine Problems
6 Days ago
Team Alstare Suzuki rider Xavi Simeon will start tomorrow’s third round of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup from the third row of the grid after problems today. The team changed the engine braking characteristics in order to help Xavi in a particular corner but unfortunately it caused problems in the other corners and Xavi couldn’t push as hard as he wanted. But the lap times of the top ten are very close and, if Xavi had gone just two tenths of a second quicker he would’ve ended up on the front row of the grid! Italian Claudio Corti (Yamaha) set the day’s fastest lap, with Michele Pirro (Yamaha) second, Davide Giugliano (Suzuki) third and Michele Magnoni (Yamaha) fourth.

Xavi Fifth on Day One
Team Alstare Suzuki rider Xavi Simeon ended the first day of qualifying at Monza with the fifth quickest lap time. All four of the riders in front of him today raced here at Monza last weekend in the Italian Championship, so had a wealth of knowledge on which to draw, so it’s no surprise that they were ahead of the young Belgian. Claudio Corti (Yamaha) set the day’s fastest lap, with a time of 1:49.468. Second is Michele Pirro (Yamaha), with Michele Magnoni (Yamaha) third and Chris Seaton (Suzuki) third.

Max Storms to provisional Pole!
Team Alstare Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner was in sensational form today, posting the day’s fastest lap in this afternoon’s qualifying session at Monza. The young German blitzed the 5.793 kilometre circuit in 1:45.990, breaking the lap record in the process. Over three tenths of a second behind is series leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati) with Suzuki Alstare rider Yukio Kagayama third. Completing the provisional front row is Japanese rider Makoto Tamada (Kawasaki). It was not such a good day for Suzuki Alstare rider Fonsi Nieto. He crashed in the qualifying session, fortunately without injury, and lost time when most of the riders were setting their quick lap times. Fonsi ended eleventh and he and the team know that a lot of good work will have to be done tomorrow to get a good grid position.

Battered & Bruised, But Alstare's Up for Monza
06 May 2008
Team Alstare Suzuki head to Monza this weekend battered and bruised but eager to attack the podium at the famous Italian circuit. Fonsi Nieto injured his knee in the last round in Valencia and was unable to train until yesterday but is keen to put away his Assen disappointment and get back on the podium again. Although Max Neukirchner did not fall in Assen, his superb podium in race one masked his ongoing recovery from the broken collarbone sustained in the previous round in Valencia. Yukio Kagayama was the only one of the three not troubled by injury as the team left the Netherlands and the Japanese rider is really looking forward to Monza and its high-speed turns.

Alstare All Focussing On Assen
22 April 2008
The dramatic events and disappointment of the last round in Valencia has been firmly put aside and Fonsi Nieto, Yukio Kagayama and Max Neukirchner’s thoughts are focussing on Assen this coming weekend. Max’s collarbone is healing very well and, although he will not be at 100% in Assen, he expects to be competitive right from the start of first practice. Seeing his maiden WSBK win disappear within sight of the chequered flag was a big blow, but the young German has erased that memory and is looking forward instead. Yukio was not 100% fit himself in Valencia, but the three week break from the last round means that he is now ready for Assen.

Xavi Ninth!
06 April 2008
Team Alstare Suzuki rider Xavi Simeon struggled with grip problems in Valencia today and was only able to post the ninth fastest time in final qualifying. Xavi was frustrated because he couldn’t get anywhere close to the lap times he did at the tests in March. Brendan Roberts (Ducati) took pole position, with a lap of 1:37.114, with Davide Giugliano (Suzuki) second and Michelle Pirro (Yamaha) third.

Series leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati) was second quickest today, with his team mate Michel Fabrizio third fastest. Team Suzuki Alstare rider Fonsi Nieto had a steady day, finishing ninth fastest overall, but will be looking for an improvement tomorrow.

Fonsi & Max Ready For Phillip Island
28 February 2008
After their win in Qatar last weekend, Team Suzuki Alstare headed to Australia in good spirits, with Fonsi Nieto and Max Neukirchner, but without Yukio Kagayama. The Japanese rider crashed in the second race and broke his left collarbone and is forced to give the Phillip Island round a miss, but he will be back in action at the SBK tests in Valencia in just two weeks time. Yukio has had a metal plate inserted in his shoulder, to hold the collarbone together, in order to be in action again as soon as possible.

Superb Win For Fonsi!
25 February 2008
Team Suzuki Alstare rider Fonsi Nieto took his maiden World Superbike Championship victory in the second 18-lap race at the Losail circuit in Qatar today. Despite having to start from the third row of the grid, Fonsi stormed through the field to take the lead just four laps from the end. Xaus and Biaggi attacked Fonsi to the end, but could not find any way past and the Spaniard was able to take the chequered flag by three tenths of a second. For Fonsi and his team mates, Yukio Kagayama and Max Neukirchner, today was a bit of a mixed day. Max led the majority of the first race, before finishing fifth. Fonsi finished seventh, with Yukio one place behind in eighth. The race was won by Troy Bayliss (Ducati), with Max Biaggi (Ducati) second and Troy Corser (Yamaha) third.

Team Alstare Suzuki Happy With Progress Made
17 January 2008
Team Alstare Suzuki finished their tests at Phillip Island happy with the progress they made and are looking forward to the first race in Qatar in February. All three riders have worked hard during the tests and have given the team a lot of information and data to analyse upon the return to the workshops after the long trip home. The team were able to test a variety of new parts and material during the test and were very happy with the feedback given by the riders. After his illness, which caused him to miss two days of the official tests last week, Max was particularly happy to be able to get down to work this week and showed this by putting in more laps than either of his team mates.

Kagayama Second At WSB Tests
10 January 2008
Yukio Kagayama put his Alstare Suzuki GSX-R1000 into second place overall on the second day of testing at Phillip Island in Australia today. With conditions hotter and breezier than the first day, the Japanese rider posted an unofficial lap time of 1:32.32 in the morning session, a fraction behind the 1:32.078 set by Troy Bayliss (Ducati) in the afternoon session.

Positive Start for Alstare at Phillip Island
10 January 2008
Team Alstare Suzuki's Yukio Kagayama, Fonsi Nieto and Max Neukirchner have completed the first of three days of World Superbike testing at Phillip Island in Australia positive and confident with their new GSX-R1000s. The team worked mainly on suspension and engine settings and settled into a good rhythm with Kagayama just three-tenths-of-a-second off the fastest unofficial time of 1:32.6 set by Troy Bayliss.

Fonsi & Yukio Begin Their Preparation For 08
28 November 2007
The 2007 season may have only finished seven weeks ago, but Team Alstare and most of the top WSBK teams were back in action in Qatar today. Conditions were far from ideal this morning when strong winds gusted across the track bringing sand and dirt from the nearby construction sites. The afternoon was better, but most of the riders used today to either reacquaint themselves with or get to know their bikes. Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra riders Fonsi Nieto and Yukio Kagayama did just that and only began to try some new material towards the end of the day. With no transponders on the bikes here, all the times are based on what each team put out. Max Neukirchner is not taking part at these tests. A "gentleman's agreement" between the Top Teams means that only two riders per team are allowed to test at such a test.

Xavier Takes Second In The Sun At Brands
07 August 2007
In scorchingly hot conditions, Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Xavier Simeon continued his run of good form with a superb second place at Brands Hatch today. And if it were not for a poor start and a problem getting past Claudio Corti (Yamaha), there is little doubt that Xavi would have challenged Niccolo Canepa (Ducati) for the victory. Getting past Corti cost Xavi the best part of two seconds, yet he was just six tenths of a second behind Canepa when the Italian took the chequered flag. Third place went to Corti, with Matteo Baiocco (Yamaha) fourth, Brendan Roberts (Ducati) fifth and Ayrton Badovini (MV) sixth.

Steady Start for Team Alstare
05 August 2007
Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra riders Yukio Kagayama and Max Biaggi made a steady start on the first day of qualifying at Brands Hatch yesterday. Yukio finished eighth quickest and Max ended the day fourteenth, but both are confident of significant improvement tomorrow. Yukio spent the day getting used to his Alstare Suzuki again after his Suzuka 8 hour success on a very different GSX-R1000 and took things steadily as a result. Max has never raced at Brands Hatch before, so used the time yesterday learning one of the most difficult tracks on the calendar. Series leader James Toseland (Honda) topped the standings yesterday - much to the delight of his home fans - with Troy Bayliss (Ducati) second, Ruben Xaus (Ducati) third and Troy Corser (Yamaha) fourth.

Xavier On Provisional Pole
04 August 2007
Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Xavi Simeon showed that his recent form is no fluke by posting the day’s fastest lap in this afternoon’s qualifying session at Brands Hatch. His time of 1:30.18 was over two tenths of a second quicker then his nearest rival Ilario Dionisi (Suzuki). Third quickest is Niccolo Canepa (Ducati), with Ayrton Badovini (MV) fourth.
