Tanel Leok joins Yamaha Red Bull De Carli

2008 Grand Prix of Ireland winner Tanel Leok will line-up alongside former double MX2 World Champion Antonio Cairoli as the Yamaha Red Bull De Carli team switch their emphasis to the premier MX1-GP world championship for 2009. The 23 year old Estonian has been drafted into the formidable Italian set-up and will have his first taste of the ’08 title-winning machine the YZ450F during winter tests.

Kawasaki Dominate Proceedings at the Motocross of Nations

Kawasaki riders win all three motos and Team USA takes overall victory at the 2008 Motocross of Nations held at Donington Park in Great Britain. If the 2008 Motocross of Nations proved anything it’s that team work is a vitally important ingredient for success. That’s why Team USA – that this year consisted of James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Tim Ferry who were all mounted on Kawasaki race machines – became champions of the Motocross of Nations for the 19th time.

KRT on Top in Belgium

Tanel Leok scored a sensational win in the final round of the Belgian National Championship while Manuel Priem secured second in the final series standings. Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tanel Leok rode superbly to put in 5-1-1 results in the final round of the United Telecom Trophy to ensure he took the overall win on the day in front of 7,000 excited race fans. Powering his factory KX450F-SR around the technical Pierreux circuit Tanel beat off a strong international field of GP runners including Ken De Dycker, Steve Ramon, Josh Coppins, Max Nagl, Tyla Rattray and of course his KRT teammate Manuel Priem.

Championships Get closer After Leok's and Rattray's Win's in Fairlyhouse

Fairyhouse Racecourse hosted a crowded Grand Prix of the Republic of Ireland today in front of 16,000 spectators who enjoyed the sunny weather. Tanel Leok won his first ever MX1 GP from Ken de Dycker and Steve Ramon, who is still second in the Championship with a five point gap from leader David Philippaerts. In the MX2 class Tyla Rattray won from Tommy Searle and Steven Frossard as first heat winner Zach Osborne broke the bike in the final heat.

Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tanel Leok takes his first GP podium of 2008 at Teutschental in Germany while teammate Manuel Priem secures eighth overall with another solid ride. The German Grand Prix is always something of an epic race as the fast but technical Teutschental circuit always offers up some of the best racing in the championship season. The 2008 edition was no different and with the Teutschental circuit rougher than ever and the summer sun raising temperatures to around 26 degrees Celsius this event was a brutal scorcher that sorted the men from the boys.

Domestic Bliss for KRT riders

Kawasaki Racing Team's Tanel Leok and Manuel Priem battle it out in their own National Championships in Estonia and Belgium. With a weekend off from the World Motocross Championship Manuel Priem and Tanel Leok each participated in rounds of their own National Championships. For Manuel this meant Kester in Belgium while Tanel travelled further afield to Jaanikese Krossirada in Estonia.

Birthday Bonanza for Leok

Celebrating his 23rd birthday in style the Estonian Express, Tanel Leok, posted his best results of the year so far at the sixth round of the FIM MX1 World Championship held at Mallory Park in Great Britain. Getting much better starts than earlier in the season Tanel was able to translate a sixth place start in moto one to a sixth place finish after nursing his rock-damaged KX450F-SR home. Although Tanel’s second race start was not as good as his first he soon moved through the pack and became involved in a battle for third place with MX1 series leader David Philippaerts and Billy MacKenzie. Fighting right to the end Tanel was unlucky not to finish higher than fifth.

Tanel Leok Takes Victory in Round One

Kawasaki Racing Team's Tanel Leok took victory in round one of the Estonian national championship, While Manuel Priem took a well-deserved weekend off to recover from the bruises he received after being mown down in Mantova, KRT team-mate Tanel Leok took victory in the opening round of the Estonian motocross championship in Saku.

Top Ten for Tanel Leok in Italy

Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tanel Leok and Manuel Priem mix it up in round five of the FIM MX1 World Championship held at Mantova in Italy. Rain once more hit the MX1 Motocross World Championships with the Italian GP being the fourth race out of five to be affected by damp conditions. Luckily the Mantova circuit is mostly sand, which meant the racing on the jump-filled circuit situated in an amphitheatre type setting in downtown Mantova was as excellent as ever.

Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tanel Leok and Manuel Priem scrap it out at round three of the FIM MX1 World Championship at Agueda. Hot and sunny weather is warmly welcomed for round three of the FIM Motocross World Championship at Agueda in Portugal just one week after the mud and rain of the Spanish GP in Bellpuig. Although the conditions are much better than at round two, KRT riders Tanel Leok and Manuel Priem are still forced to battle hard for every point in two gruelling motos on the very technical Agueda circuit.

Ratteray-Cairoli Wrestle Set for Toda’s Portuguese GP

It was a great opening day in Agueda, the host of the third Grand Prix of 2008 which welcomed the Motocross collective with very hot weather conditions. Sebastien Pourcel clocked a stunning pole position in the MX1 class, collecting his second consecutive Lovemytime Pole Position Award after his first pole of 2008 in Spain last weekend. Tyla Rattray is also on a season high, winning his third consecutive qualifying heat and bringing home the Lovemytime Qualifying Award together with his closest rival in the Championship, Antonio Cairoli, who won the qualifying moto one to get his first win of 2008.

FIM MX GP Campaign To Begin At Sandy Valkenswaard

USA Dominate 61st Motocross Of Nations

Kawasaki enjoyed a successful afternoon at the biggest and most prestigious Motocross event of the year as Ryan Villopoto and Tim Ferry guided their KX250F and KX450Fs to help Team USA celebrate their eighteenth capture of the Chamberlain trophy in the 61st edition of the international Nations competition. Team GPKR’s Sebastien Pourcel was part of the French trio that gained second place. From the nine riders on the final podium, one third steered KX motorcycle technology.

Mackenzie Wins First British Championship

Kawasaki celebrated their third national motocross championship success of 2007 when KRT’s Billy Mackenzie won the Maxxis British title at his first attempt to compliment crowns gained in the USA and France. 23 year old Mackenzie, winner of the Grand Prix of Japan and the first world championship event with the KX450F-SR, gave the manufacturer their first British accolade since 1996 and ended Honda’s seven year dominance in the premier class of the UK competition.
