Superstock Rene Maehr Talks to KTM on Eve of Monza

Rene Maehr, KTM's newest factory rider talks about racing just before competing in his third International Superstock Series at his favourite circuit of Monza. Rene is riding the newly launched KTM 1190 RC 8 motorcycle in its debut year of racing.

Monza Gets Ready for Another Slipstreaming Thriller

As the gates opened at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza for the traditional SBK Open Paddock, riders taking part in this weekend’s races have been facing up to an intense day of PR activity, both inside and outside the circuit. The first appointment of the day saw six Superbike riders – Troy Bayliss, Max Biaggi, Carlos Checa, Noriyuki Haga, Makoto Tamada and Max Neukirchner, together with the leaders of the other three categories, Joan Lascorz (Supersport), Maxime Berger (Superstock 1000) and Dan Linfoot (Superstock 600) – take part in the traditional pre-event press conference in the delightful 14th century Castello della Bicocca building within the grounds of Pirelli headquarters in Milan.

Baiocco Takes Monza Superstock Win For Yamaha

Today's FIM Superstock 1000 Cup race was always going to be exciting following on from the drama at the last round in Assen but no one could have predicted the result as Matteo Baiocco took the win at his home round while Yamaha Team Italia team mates Corti and Pirro both crashed out. Pirro, Corti, Van Keymeulen and Baiocco had been running in the top five throughout the weekend in qualifying with Pirro taking his second pole position of the season and Corti taking second. Baiocco qualified in fourth with Didier Van Keymeulen rounding up the Yamaha domination in fifth.

Pirelli Round 11 – Imola, Italy – 1st October 2006 – Race Preview

September 2006, Imola (Italy) – With all the titles still to be assigned and only two rounds left in SBK, everyone is ready to race at Imola, one of the most famous circuits in the world. Just last Sunday on this track the Italian Championship found its winner in Marco Borciani, racing with Pirelli in the SBK class.
