Parkes Fifth After Tough Fight at New Circuit
03 November 2008
After running in the leading pack for some of the 20-lap race at Portimao Broc Parkes (Yamaha World Supersport Team) could not stay in contention for the podium and finished fifth. The Australian rider had been slowed by a crash which happened right in front of him and after that he was unable to catch the leading group again and slowly dropped back as his tyres lost optimum grip. He held off a late challenge to finish in the top five and end his season fourth overall, on 150 points, with one win to his credit. Fabien Foret (Yamaha World Supersport Team) could not get into contention after starting 16th on the grid and despite finishing tenth, he was disappointed by his final raceday of the 2008 season. He also scored a single win in the championship chase this year, and despite missing four races through injury, he was sixth overall, on 111 points.

Tinmouth Secures Seventh Overall in British Supersport Cup
17 October 2008
Jenny Tinmouth has completed her debut season in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship aboard her Hollins Motorsport backed Honda CBR600RR, the final round having taken place last weekend at the 1.19 mile Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent. Her 28th position overall and seventh in the cup in Sunday’s race, secured her a creditable seventh place in the standings for cup competitors, a pleasing result as a class rookie. However, the free practice sessions on the Friday didn’t go totally according to plan, with a new gear lever getting caught against the frame on the down shifts during the first session, meaning that she missed valuable track time whilst making adjustments in pit lane.

Fitzpatrick Ends on a High
16 October 2008
Craig Fitzpatrick ended his 2008 campaign in style with yet another victory in the final round of the British Supersport Cup at Brands Hatch. The newly crowned Supersport Cup Champion came in to the weekend free of the pressure of the title race and was able to enjoy himself as he claimed his 8th win in twelve rounds. Friday’s free practice sessions saw Fitzpatrick place 13th and 9th overall, and fastest in the Cup, as he endeavoured to get his BLDS Yamaha R6 working it’s best around the short Brands Hatch Indy circuit. On a damp track, Saturday morning’s first qualifying session was, in the main part, action free. With lap times at least 5 seconds slower than had previously been achieved in the dry, few riders ventured out for anything more than a check of the conditions. Fitzpatrick completed a mere seven laps and placed 16th overall.

Team Buff Silverstone Report
04 October 2008
This weekend took us to foggy Silverstone, based in Northampton. British Superbikes Round 11 at Silverstone gave Team Buff and rider Rob Frost, a tenth place in the British Supersport championship. With a blinding qualifying performance, Team Buff had an amazing transitional round with Frosty claiming fourth position on the grid at the very front row. Unfortunately, owing to cooling tyres and a case of bad luck, Frosty lost his Triumph on the 7th lap after following the safety car for three laps. Destination Silverstone met us this weekend with the welcome use of a garage - a much needed and appreciated added bonus! After a non-stop schedule of World Superbikes and British Superbikes, our absence at Croft allowed those all important riches to be added to the bikes by way of a new engine to “Number 1 bike” new rear sets, new intake trumpets, fairing mounts and clock mounts giving a huge saving of a further 2.5 kilos on each bike. So you could say we used the time to our best advantage.
