11 May 2008
It took a new lap record by series leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati) to deprive Alstare Suzuki rider Max Neukirchner of a Superpole win at Monza today. Bayliss smashed Noriyuki Haga’s 2007 time by well over a second, to take his third Superpole win of the season.

In this morning's qualifying session Corser and Bayliss fought an entertaining battle with the duo swapping between first and second place throughout. Corser was the first rider to break into the 1'35 lap times this weekend, matching his best time from last months test here, but Bayliss quickly followed suit to retain first place. Haga spent qualifying searching for his best race setting and took a second off his best time from yesterday to finish in seventh.

Toseland Scores Superpole Win Number Three
28 April 2007
An ebullient Superpole ride from James Toseland (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) gave him an early psychological and measurable advantage for Sunday’s 22-lap Superbike races, thanks to a new Superbike best lap of 1’38.603. It was Toseland’s first Superpole of the year and only the third of his entire SBK career. Superpole changed the fortunes of many riders after the morning’s final regulation qualifying session, notably fifth placed pre-Superpole qualifier Lorenzo Lanzi (Ducati Xerox) who went second in the final analysis, some 0.623 seconds from Toseland. A joint factory Ducati push saw fastest pre-Superpole fastest qualifier Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) go third. The last place on the front row was earned by a resurgent Max Biaggi (Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra), who recovered from a lowly 12th finish after regulation qualifying to go fourth in Superpole.

Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) Shrugs Off Injuries To Take Superpole In Wet Valencia
15 April 2007
Valencia (Spain), Saturday 14 April: Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) shrugged off his recent spate of injuries to take his fifteenth career pole position and third of the year in four races. Despite a lengthy excursion into the gravel during Superpole, the Australian found the damp conditions to be to his advantage as he took the top slot from the early pace-setter Ruben Xaus (Ducati). The final two positions on the front row went to the surprise of the day, Josh Brookes (Honda) and Troy Corser (Yamaha), but few riders completed their full quota of laps, preferring not to risk everything on the wet Valencia track surface.

Team Alstare's Troy Takes Superpole!
08 October 2006
Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Troy Corser put in a virtually perfect lap to take Superpole at Magny-Cours today. Troy’s lap of 1:39.147 was over one and a half seconds inside the lap record and two tenths of a second ahead of his nearest rival - James Toseland (Honda). Troy’s team mate Yukio Kagayama suffered from wheelspin in the final part of his Superpole lap and ended eighth quickest and will start from the second row of the grid. But like Troy, he feels that he has got a good set-up for the race and is confident of challenging for the podium. Third quickest today was Lorenzo Lanzi (Ducati), with Karl Muggeridge (Honda) completing the front row of the grid.

James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) scored his best lap of the weekend to earn a place on the front row at the final round of the 2006 season. Crucially, Toseland's rival for overall second in the championship, Noriyuki Haga, was only fifth fastest, and now starts from one row behind Toseland. James is two points ahead of Haga currently, and only has to keep his nose ahead of the Japanese rider in the 23-lap races to secure second in the final points standings.

Superpole - Magny Cours– 12th Round – 6th, 7th And 8th October
08 October 2006
A stunning Superpole lap from Troy Corser (Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra), who had qualified fifth fastest in regulation, gave him his fourth Superpole win of the year, dropping the best SBK lap at Magny-Cours to an impressive 1'39.147. Corser has now scored 38 career Superpole victories, extending his all-time record still further. Of more significance in the shape of the 2006 championship table, perhaps, was the fact that James Toseland (Winston Ten Kate Honda) was second quickest and earned a front row start, while the man who sits only two points behind him in the championship, Noriyuki Haga (Yamaha Motor Italia), was fifth fastest and begins Sunday's races from the second row. The track surface at Magny-Cours had a chance to dry out before Superpole, after frequently changeable and often damp conditions had adversely affected final qualifying for all the riders this morning.
