Adrien Chareyre Continues to Lead S2 Class

Adrien Chareyre consolidated his lead in the S2 Class thanks to the results gained at the 4th Supermoto World Championship GP held last weekend in Olbia, Sardinia. The French rider, 2007 Supermoto S1 Champion, finished second overall despite a series of mistakes during the race that could have cost him his podium finish. Adrien proved to be very competitive and focused, able to recover even under pressure in difficult situations.

KL Kawasaki Nastedo Team Presented AT Castelletto

In occasion of this second Grand Prix of 2008, the KL Kawasaki Nastedo Team introduced their new squad to the press. The KL Kawasaki supported team, with KL being the Italian distributor for Kawasaki off road bikes, is headed by Italian Domenico Corbo and lines up multiple French Champion Maxime Testu and Italian young gun Marco Dondi. The team is based in Vicenza, in the North of Italy. Both riders are onboard the Kawasaki SM 450F-R’s tuned by the Nastedo Group, headed by Mr. Corbo. The latter is a former road racer and aims at applying the bits of his road racing experience to SuperMoto.

2008 FIM Supermoto World Championship TV Coverage

The 2008 FIM SuperMoto World Championship will benefit by an expanded TV coverage, reaching more different territories for a better awareness of the best SuperMoto series in the world. The series promoted by Youthstream has reinforced its media coverage in Asia and also in the USA, where a SuperMoto Grand Prix will be held in 2009.

Tough Week End For Husky Riders in Alcarras, Spain

The hot temperature of the Spanish week end caused many problems to the Husqvarna CH Racing Supermoto Team at the Alcarras GP. In S2 class, Gerald Delepine's bad start in race 1 penalized the rider right from the beginning. Gerald then immediately start his run towards the first positions, but he fell and then was forced to leave the race because of technical problems occurred to his SMR 660.

Supermoto World Championship: An Husky Business

A sunny Villars Sous Ecot, France, hosted the third round of Supermotard World Championship. The Husqvarna CH Racing team's riders arrived at the track with the goal of replicate the show made in Turin and get podium again. And so it was: In S1 class, Adrien Chareyre got the first place hands off, with Van Den Bosch stopping the race when his engine broke. Second heat was harder for the French brothers: Adrien fought for the whole race with Aprilia Belgian rider keeping his Husky SMR 450 right behind VDB. Even thought the rider gave his best, he finished the race on second position, but the two results conquered made him obtain the red plate as to confirm his leadership in the World Championship provisional classification. Adrien's younger brother Thomas got 3rd and 4th positions that bounced him to the second provisional pl ace behind the older brother. In the S2 class, fast and furious Gerald Delepine won easily the first heat leaving Aprilia's Iddon far behind. In race 2, Gerald made a bad start that made him loose some pisitions. As always, the Belgian rider didn't give up and started a breathtaking race passing his rivals on a track that doesn't give any passing chance. Gerald was fourth at the chequered flag, but the sum of the two races made him conquer the red plate and the leadership of the classification. Next Supermoto GP will be held in Alcarras, Spain, on June 24th.

'Asphalt Surfer' Bernd Hiemer Confident Going To Italy

The second round of the Supermoto World Championships takes a new turn this weekend with a Friday - Saturday program in the Italian city of Turin - including a night race - and KTM factory rider Bernd Hiemer is raring to try his skills. Organizers have transformed the Oval Lingotto, Turin's 2006 Winter Olympic Games venue, into a Supermoto arena and the German rider anticipates a great atmosphere for riders and crowd. The oval is just 500 meters away from the city centre, which should ensure a great attendance for this spectacular and crowd-pleasing event.

Good Start For The Husqarna Supermoto Team

The first round of the 2007 Supermoto World Championship held in Castelletto di Branduzzo last week end was quite successful for the Husqvarna CH Racing team. The victory was missing, but the team, riders and bikes got important results for the next championship’s rounds. Husqvarna got the second and third places in S1 class (450) thanks to a brilliant performance of the Chareyre Brothers, while Belgian rider Gerald Delepine was second in S2 class (600).

Competition Gets High With Husky

The Supermoto World Championship arrived in Germany for its 5th round. In the S1 class the official Husqvarna Team’s riders Gerald Delepine and Ivan Lazzarini played the main role together with Bernd Hiemer. The Belgian World Champion in charge won the first heat beating his team-mate Lazzarini and Hiemer. Still in race 1 good performance for Maxime Testu of the Husqvarna SIMA team. The young French rider arrived 7th at the chequered flag. In race 2, Hiemer took immediately the control of the race and never gave up until the end. To get the GP, Gerald was just looking for the second place.

The second Supermoto World Championship’s round was held on the spectacular circuit of Villars Sous Ecot, France. The Husqvarna riders of the Husqvarna CH Supermoto Team and the Husqvarna SIMA team have monopolized the GP, winning in both S1 and S2 classes.

KTM supported rider Bernd Hiemer wins the first round of the Supermoto World Championship in the S1 class. Ivan Lazzarini finished second, in front of Christian Iddon.
