KTM Congratulates Bernd Hiemer On Italian Championship Title

KTM's Supermoto factory rider, Bernd Hiemer was in peak form last weekend to demoralise some of his toughest rivals and to snatch the Italian title in the S1 class for the 2007 season. Winning the Italian title is a great confidence booster for the German rider going into the final world championship event this weekend in Athens, Greece. While the first three championship places seem to be secured, the injury of fourth placed Jerome Giraudo now puts Hiemer in the box seat to move up the standings ladder. Hiemer is lying fourth but has strong competition from Kevin Berthome who is only one point behind him in the championship standings.

AMA Supermoto Championship Heads To Pacific Northwest

WHR Motorsports is set to host its first AMA Supermoto Championship event this Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds and Expo Center in Redmond, Ore. Entitled the Yamaha Rampage in Redmond, this year’s race marks the first time the AMA Supermoto Championship has visited the Pacific Northwest and the state of Oregon.

Iddon & Hodgson Are Crowned Champions At Silverstone

The Final round of the British Supermoto Championship held at Silverstone on a heavily modified Stowe Circuit, saw some decent weather, with both the Saturday afternoon qualifying and Sunday’s racing held in breezy, but otherwise almost perfect conditions. Saturday qualifying saw several riders heading the provisional leader board, as the times tumbled on the flowing Northamptonshire tarmac, Christian Iddon (Factory Aprilia SXV550) set the expectations for the weekend as he produced the winning 1.06.21 lap, to claim the overnight Pole Position.

Delepine In Awesome Shape For Italian Round

While the Husqvarna Enduro Ch Racing team was racing in Slovakia, the Husqvarna Supermotard CH Racing team was present in Jesolo for the 5th round of the Italian Championship. Factory rider Gerald Delepine showed up on the track in awesome shape and, as consequence, the rider got both races podium on Sunday without making any extra effort. Delepine is now leader of the S2 class provisional classification with 228 points at only one race to the end.

2007 AMA Supermoto Schedule Changes

AMA Racing announced today that the AMA Supermoto Championship round scheduled for Sept. 9, at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Oklahoma City, Okla., has been removed from the schedule and the Sept. 15, round at the Pacific Grand Prix in Seattle, Wash., will move to a new venue in Redmond, Ore., on Sept. 29. In making the announcement, AMA Racing Vice President, Doug Neubauer noted that there will still be six rounds remaining on the schedule and combined with the four that have already run, the final event will become a double header keeping it a solid ten round championship. Neubauer added that important news regarding the Troy Lee Designs-produced championship finale scheduled for Nov. 10 & 11, will be released in the next few days.

2007 AMA Racing Awards Banquet Returns To Las Vegas

The 33rd Annual AMA Pro Racing Championship Awards Banquet will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on Sunday evening, Nov. 18. The celebration held each year wraps up AMA Racing’s professional championship season honoring the top riders in American motorcycle racing. Stars from AMA Motocross, Superbike, Flat Track, Supercross, Supermoto and Hillclimb will be honored. New for 2007, the evening will also see the recognition of the top riders from AMA Pro ATV Racing. As has become tradition, the evening will conclude with the presentation of the AMA Pro Racing SPEED Athlete of the Year Award. Last year Motocross/Supercross star Ricky Carmichael became the first rider in AMA history to win the award for the fifth time.

Guillaume - From US To Canada Straight To The Podium

CH Racing Husqvarna rider Seb Guillaume secured his second successive double Enduro 3 class podium result by placing as runner up and in third position at the GP of Canada, staged for the second year in Parry Sound north of Toronto. Enjoying the first day's competition E3 class Seb Guillaume continued to show that he is the only rider capable of pushing Spaniard Ivan Cervantes and Finn Marko Tarkkala in the WEC's largest capacity class.

British & National Supermoto Championships - Three Sisters Race Report

Round five of the British Supermoto Championship held at Three Sisters Race Circuit, at last saw some decent weather, with both the Saturday afternoon qualifying and Sunday’s racing held in breezy, but otherwise almost perfect sunny conditions. Saturday qualifying was an amazingly close affair, with several riders heading the provisional leader board, until Sam Warren (SR Off-Road Aprilia SXV550) punched in a blinder of a lap just before the session close, to claim the overnight Pole Position. Coming on the heels of his overall victory at Teesside at round 4, it appeared that Warren had laid the gauntlet down to the rest of the field, but in the end, his weekend did not quite go to plan.

Chareyre Brothers Conquest In Bulgaria

The terrible French brothers got complete control of the sixth Supermoto GP held in Pleven, Bulgaria, on their 2008 SMRs 450. In s1 class heat one, the two young riders from Husqvarna CH Racing team got immediately the leadership of the race leaving their rivals far away from them. In race 2, Adrein unfortunately fell immediately after the start and had to restart from the very last position.

Pignotti Retains Slim Lead in S2 Supermoto World Championship

KTM rider Attilio Pignotti again capitalized on his rich experience as a rider to secure a fifth and third in the two motos at the Bulgarian Grand Prix in Pleven. He retains a slim two point lead in the championship standings. The sixth round, run on the brand new Supermoto Circuit in Pleven, the first time Bulgaria has hosted a Supermoto World Championship event, was run under extremely hot conditions with shade temperatures reaching as high as 48º Celsius.

Test of Endurance at Bulgarian S1 Grand Prix

KTM factory rider Bernd Hiemer rode to tenth overall in the S1 class Grand Prix in Bulgaria on Sunday in the Supermoto World Championship. Bernd posted ninth and twelfth in the two motos on the brand new circuit in Pleven where extreme heat tested riders' concentration to the limit. It was the first time that Bulgaria had hosted an FIM Supermoto World Championship event and introduced another new circuit to the Supermoto riders, the third for the season. Riders have also competed in Turin and Alcarràs on new circuits earlier in the season.
