Burns Back with a Bang at Mallory

Chris Burns announced his return to the Daily Star British Superbike Cup with a third place followed by a win at Mallory Park today. Onboard the STP Motorsport MV Agusta, the Newcastle rider took a tyre gamble which was to pay dividends in the second of two races around the historic Leicestershire circuit. After Burns and the team were forced to withdraw from the Snetterton round earlier this month, hopes were high they could return to their top three-finishing ways as they returned with the only MV Agusta in the series.

Taking the Positives from a Disappointing Windswept Donington

Well it was a disappointing end to what looked like being a very positive weekend for the STP Motorsport MV Agusta British Superbike Team. After qualifying on the third row of the grid the team expected at least two podiums in the Superbike Cup as reward for some extremely hard work in the pit garage. In morning free practice on race day Chris Burns posted the fastest time out of the Superbike Cup riders and was 13th overall, adding to the team's optimism. As the first race got underway this optimism looked as if it would become reality, with Chris quickly catching and passing Gary Mason to establish a lead in the Cup standings.

Best Ever Qualifying for Chris Burns & MV Agusta

After an incident packed weekend the STP Motorsport MV Agusta British Superbike Team recorded its best ever qualifying position ahead of Monday’s British Superbike races at Donington Park. The freak accident in warm up on Saturday, when a gust of wind blew several pitboard numbers onto the track, one of which punctured the radiator on the MV Agusta causing Chris Burns to highside as he entered turn one, meant another late night for the pit crew. They delivered a bike that was quick enough to put Chris second fastest in the Daily Star Cup standings in today’s free practice. However, technical issues as a result of yesterday’s crash would mean more work being done between free practice and qualifying.

Burns Raring to Go at Oulton

Chris Burns is raring to go this weekend as the British Superbike Championship heads to Oulton Park. Following a successful test at Donington Park this week, the 27-year-old Newcastle rider is fired-up ahead of Bank Holiday Monday’s two races at the popular Cheshire circuit. On board the MV Agusta F4 312RR, Burns and the STP Motorsport outfit are looking to build on the success of the opening round at Thruxton two weeks ago, when the Geordie favourite crossed the line in second place in the Superbike Cup class.

Burns Set For Thruxton Battle

Chris Burns is feeling upbeat and ready to go as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship finally gets underway at the UK’s fastest racetrack this weekend. Following a test at Oulton Park last Friday, the 27-year-old from Newcastle is itching to get back in the saddle of his STP Motorsport MV Agusta F312RR.
