The rescheduled round of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport championship at Brands Hatch on Sunday brought differing results to the Gearlink Kawasaki team with Steven Neate completing the race in 13th place to secure three championship points while Chris Martin crashed out of fourth place in the incident packed event. With qualifying set from the postponed event back in early April Chris began his race from row two while Steven was placed on row five.
Following their two strong finishes for Gearlink Kawasaki in the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport championship at Thruxton and Oulton Park, Steven Neate and Chris Martin return to Brands Hatch to complete their unfinished business in the rescheduled first round of the series on Sunday. The first round had seen the riders all complete their qualifying but the meeting had to be postponed because of lying snow on the track on race day.
Both Chris Martin and Steven Neate overcame the problematic weather conditions which affected qualifying to claim a fantastic set of results for Gearlink Kawasaki in their debut race at Thruxton where Chris secured a podium position of third and Steven 10th in the opening round of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport championship on Sunday. Starting from a fourth row grid position Martin was quick to move forward and soon made inroads towards the leading group. By lap six he was up to third place behind Glen Richards but his progress was thwarted with the arrival on circuit of the course car, brought out to slow the race and allow for the removal of debris following a crash.
