Red Bull KTM 250 star Mika Kallio finished fifth in Sunday's Czech Grand Prix but remains in the title hunt after his rival and world championship leader Marco Simoncelli finished third. Kallio now trails the Italian by 16 points with six more races to go to complete the season. Simoncelli dropped back from first to third in the final corners of the race to cut back his points tally for the race on the traditional Brno circuit.
While registering disappointment in the cancellation of the Dakar 2008, KTM stands firmly behind the decision of the organizers not to go ahead following threats from terrorist groups to disrupt the rally.
KTM that is always "Ready to Race" has welcomed the just released changes to the FIM Regulations with company officials agreeing that they cover important areas of development that will make a positive impact on the MX racing circuits in coming years. Stefan Pierer CEO of KTM said he viewed the new regulations as an excellent way forward for the sport of Motocross and would help to guarantee its future in a responsible 21st century context.
