Cal tried both his Rizla Suzuki race bikes and made minor changes to suspension and gearing in the dry afternoon session after a damp morning. “I need to marry the best bits of both my bikes,” enthused Cal. “One bike has a stronger engine, the other is better on corner entry. Qualifying cancelled at Mallory Park
21 July 2007
Qualifying for the ninth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park in Leicestershire has been cancelled due to standing water at the side of the 1.41-mile circuit. The sheer volume of standing water in the run-off areas of the circuit meant that any competitive riding was ruled out by the organisers – the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board (MCRCB). Instead, the MCRCB has decided to make further track inspections as the day progresses and practice sessions will be declared if possible.

Practice Rained Off At Mallory Park
20 July 2007
Torrential rain and standing water on the circuit cut-short today’s Superbike practice for the ninth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park in Leicestershire after just 17-minutes. Due to the atrocious weather, on-track activity was limited with only 19 racers taking to the 1.41-mile circuit at the start of the shortened 20-minute session. After 16-minutes Rizla Suzuki’s Chris Walker and Cal Crutchlow both went on to the track but a red flag meant they didn’t complete a single lap. The red flag was caused by Naturally Best Suzuki’s 21-year-old Ollie Bridewell suffering a fatal crash.

Podium For Stalker & Career Best For Cal
15 July 2007
The torrential rain at today’s eighth round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park failed to dampen the spirits of Chris ‘Stalker’ Walker as he stormed to third place on the podium, or of Cal Crutchlow as he recorded his career best ever result of fifth. Stalker, starting from 11th on the grid at the 2.69-mile long track, was always in contention for the podium in the opening race, dicing for second right until the chequered flag - eventually finishing third on the rostrum for just the second time in 2007. In the second race he was comfortable in third when after nine-laps he ran on into a gravel trap and fell over. He remounted and joined the race 11th, fighting his way back to eighth by the end.
