Crutchlow Powers in an Action Replay Pole Start
19 July 2008
Cal Crutchlow powered his HM Plant Honda to pole start for the seventh round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park and promised to convert his pace into a winning double to steel his chances of reeling in Shane Byrne in the title stakes. The Coventry rider enjoys riding the Cheshire circuit, having taken pole in the earlier visit there back in May – then in the races he had mixed fortunes with a sixth place and then a tumble but this time around Crutchlow is determined to show what might have been.

Crutchlow Defies Injury to Race but Byrne Takes Pole
11 May 2008
Cal Crutchlow will defy the pain from his injured right ankle to keep his Bennetts British Superbike title bid on track at Brands Hatch but the HM Plant Honda rider faces a tough challenge from the series leading Shane Byrne. The Airwaves Ducati rider starts the races from pole postion, having topped the qualifying leaderboard ahead of the snow aborted opening round last month, and that position has been carried forward to this ‘round one – take two.’ Byrne had lapped then in a time of 1m 25.832secs and again he was the rider topping the free practice leaderboard at the sun-drenched Kent grand prix circuit, with a lap of 95.03mph, just 0.159secs up on HM Plant Honda rider Leon Haslam who starts from third place on the grid.

Series Leader Byrne Confident of More Success
08 May 2008
Shane Byrne heads confidently into his favourite Brands Hatch circuit for the rescheduled round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this weekend intent on tightening his grip on the title that he last held five year ago. The Airwaves Ducati rider has won three of the four races held so far, opening up a 39 points advantage over his team-mate Leon Camier and unusually as Byrne prepares for these races, on the demanding grand prix circuit, that could be crucial to his hopes, he already knows that he will be on pole position for them.

The first round of the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch, Kent, was abandoned today (6th April), due to unseasonably heavy snowfall. As a result of extensive efforts on the part of series organiser MotorSport Vision Racing, the round has been rescheduled to take place over the weekend of 10/11 May. The grid positions for all classes will be as of final qualifying positions set on Saturday 5 April.

Byrne Takes Pole For Opening Round
05 April 2008
Shane Byrne underlined his credentials for a determined bid to regain the Bennetts British Superbike crown as he powered his Airwaves Ducati onto pole start for the opening round at Brands Hatch. The rider who began his racing career at the Kent circuit, taking a victory on that day, had been the dominant force throughout free practice and he carried that pace through to the grid deciding session, finally overcoming a determined challenge to his supremacy by HM Plant Honda rider Cal Crutchlow.
