The young German is one of the rising stars of the Superbike World Championship and his signing is seen as a great coup for the Belgian based outfit.

Tamada to Ride for Kawasaki in 2008 SBK Championship

Kawasaki is delighted to announce that SBK and MotoGP race winner Makoto Tamada is to join Regis Laconi in a strong two-man PSG-1 Kawasaki Corse team for the 2008 World Superbike Championship. Negotiations between Kawasaki and Tamada reached a successful conclusion on 30 November, and now Tamada returns to the championship in which he first came to international notice, thanks to three victories as a wild card entrant on home ground at Sugo.

Edwards & Toseland Join Forces With Yamaha Tech 3

It is with great pleasure that the Yamaha Tech 3 team wishes to announce the signing of two world champions to contest the 2008 MotoGP World Championship. American rider Colin Edwards, will be joined by Brit, James Toseland with both riders bringing a wealth of riding experience to the Yamaha Tech 3 Team. Texan Edwards, after four years in the elite class and winning two World Superbike Championships in 2000 and 2002, possesses an invaluable amount of development knowledge while Toseland is the recently crowned 2007 world superbike champion after first claiming his first world title in 2004.

Suzuki Confirms Loris Capirossi Signing For 2008

Suzuki Motor Corporation is proud to officially announce its agreement with Italian star Loris Capirossi to join its MotoGP squad for the 2008 season. Capirossi joins new team-mate Chris Vermeulen in the two-man Suzuki MotoGP team after the final round of the current MotoGP Championship, at Valencia yesterday, and the experienced racer will begin evaluating the 2007 and 2008 versions of the prototype 800cc GSV-R during a two-day test at the Spanish circuit.

Valentine Ready To Roll

Jack Valentine, the newly appointed Team Manager to the Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team, is raring to go and is determined to get the squad back to winning ways. Valentine started his professional race career in 1982 when he set out with Steve Mellor as V&M Racing; at that time he was still competiting and claimed 10 national and three European motorcycle drag racing titles over a seven year period. He gave up his own racing in 1990 to concentrate on the management and technical side of V&M. His team went on to have considerable success in the British Championship and the International road racing scene.

Elias To Ride For Pramac D'Aantin Team Next Season

The Pramac-Dantin Team and Toni Elias have reached an agreement that sees both parties committed to working together next year. The young pilot of 24 years, native of Manresa, already has nine years of experience racing in the World Championship, and for the 2008 season he will ride a Ducati GP8 for the Pramac-Dantin Team.

Dream Team For Bradley Smith

Sixteen year-old Bradley Smith has been rewarded for a brilliant season in the 125cc World Championship by joining a top team in 2008. Yesterday (Tuesday) in Spain the Oxford–based rider signed a contract to compete in next year’s 17-round 125cc World Championship with the Polaris World team that have already won four grands prix with Italian Mattia Pasini this season. Smith will ride one of the latest factory Italian Aprilia machines that have dominated the Championship this year winning 13 of the 16 rounds.

Shinya Nakano Signs For Konica Minolta Honda Team For The 2007 Season

Kawasaki Combine Youth With Experience For 2007 MotoGP Season

The Kawasaki Racing Team will combine youth and experience in their rider line-up for the 2007 season, with former world champion, Olivier Jacque, making his full time return to the MotoGP grid, riding alongside current Kawasaki young gun, and fellow countryman, Randy de Puniet. The 2007 season will be de Puniet's second with the Kawasaki Racing Team. The 25-year-old Frenchman enjoyed a solid debut year in the MotoGP class with Kawasaki, during which he showed his potential on a number of occasions, whilst also gaining valuable experience with every outing aboard his Ninja ZX-RR.

The next to last event of the 2006 Championship did not respond to the Team Gil Motor Sport Kawasaki’s expectancies, but good news is that two riders for the next season have been declared officially. Fabien Foret, the World champion in this category in 2002, and Pere Riba, the Spanish rider, who has been a Kawasaki development rider for three years now, will stand up for the colours of the Luxembourg team. No good news on the track though: Stephane Chambon is ranked the 16th, while Maxime Berger gives up.
