US Supercross Series: 4th Round San Francisco, CA

The weather forecast called for rain, and rain came. Meanwhile, MDK KTM Factory rider Nick Wey lined up for Supercross Heat #2. Wey had a 10th placed start off the gate and managed to move quickly into a qualifying position. He rode consistent and smooth and stayed in a qualifying position throughout the heat moving his KTM on to the roster for the main event.

Carmichael Wins In San Francisco

Ricky Carmichael raced his RM-Z450 to an 8.5-second victory at Saturday night’s San Francisco Supercross at AT& T Park in California. The Makita Suzuki rider – taking part in his last West Coast Supercross ride of the season as he opts to take up NASCAR Racing – gated third behind Chad Reed (Yamaha) and James Stewart (Kawasaki) in the 20-lap Main Event. He took the lead at the mid-race point when both Stewart and Reed slipped off and was never challenged from then on.

Stewart Looking To Continue Supercross Streak

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart is on a roll. The defending San Francisco Supercross winner comes to round four of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series undefeated in the first three rounds and leads the championship coming into San Francisco’s AT&T Park this Saturday, Jan., 27, 2007. The race will be televised on CBS.

Bostrom And Hodgson Aiming For Success At Infineon Raceway

The Parts Unlimited Ducati Team returns to action this week at Infineon Raceway, located in the scenic Sonoma Valley just north of San Francisco. Neil Hodgson and Ben Bostrom will race their Ducati 999 Superbikes at the tight and twisty track known for its challenging elevation changes. The Infineon Raceway Superbike doubleheader (with races on Saturday and Sunday) is near the Ducati North America headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Three Winners In Three Races In Formula Xtreme Series

Eric Bostrom’s victory in the AMA Lockhart-Phillips USA Formula Xtreme Series last month in Fontana, Calif., marked the third different winner in three races. When Formula Xtreme comes to Infineon Raceway on May 20, part of the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown presented by Supercuts, there will be a host of riders hoping to make it four winners in four rounds.

Carmichael 2ND At Muddy San Francisco

In one of the best races of the season so far, Team Makita Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael raced to a close second place at Saturday night’s rain-lashed AMA Supercross fourth round at SBC Park in San Francisco, California. The reigning World and AMA Supercross Champion had led the shortened 12-lap, muddy 250cc Main Event from lap nine but lost out to arch rival James ‘Bubba’ Stewart in the closing stages. Carmichael’s RM-Z450 and Stewart’s Kawasaki clashed on the gate and took the first turn in fifth and third respectively behind holeshotter Nick Wey (Honda). But before the lap had finished, Stewart had moved into the lead and Carmichael to third.
