Team Makita Suzuki Racing’s Ivan Tedesco picked up his first holeshot and his best Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross result of the season after finishing fourth at Saturday night’s San Diego AMA Supercross seventh round at Qualcomm Stadium. “This was definitely a break-through weekend for me,” said Tedesco after the race. “I was able to get some seat time on the Makita Suzuki RM-Z450 during the week and that really paid off. What I’m most excited about is that Chad Reed only beat me by about 10 seconds and I know I can improve on that.”
KTM may be based out of Austria with their main United States office in Ohio, but when it comes to Supercross the San Diego round can be considered home turf with how close it is to KTM Race Team shop and R & D facilities. Both Martin Davalos and Josh Hansen came out this weekend with a fire in their eyes. Easily into the night show with fast lap times during timed qualifying things continued to improve as Hansen battled for the lead during his heat, while Davalos hung just outside the top three.
