Ben Bostrom Finishes on Podium at Road Atlanta

Graves Motorsports Ben Bostrom finished a respectable third-place in Sunday's Supersport race at Road Atlanta, following an early incident at turn 7 that sent multiple riders (including Graves rider Tommy Aquino) to the sidelines and immediately red-flagged the race. After the restart, Ben cruised much of the race to finish on podium.

Spies Wins Superstock Title

Yoshimura Suzuki's Ben Spies clinched the 2007 AMA Superstock Championship after winning the penultimate race of the season at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia on Sunday. With one round of AMA Superstock remaining, Spies and his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 went for the win even though he only had to finish in sixth place or better to take the title. With this win, Spies lays claim to seven of eight races so far this year. Additionally, defending AMA Superbike Champion Spies won pole position for this race, his sixth of the season.

Yoshimura Suzuki Men Dominate

Yoshimura Suzuki's Mat Mladin broke his own record for the most AMA Superbike wins in a single season by picking up his 12th victory at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia on Sunday. It was Mladin's sixth AMA Superbike race win in a row as well as his 63rd career victory in the class which gave the six-time AMA Superbike Champion command of the AMA Superbike points chase going into the series' final round at Laguna Seca later this month. Team mate and defending AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies followed Mladin home in second place while Tommy Hayden finished in seventh place.

Three-way Dogfight For AMA Supersport Coming Into Road Atlanta

About the only sure thing in the Pro Honda Oils Supersport Championship presented by Shoei is that this year’s champion will likely have a last name that begins with the letter H. Road Atlanta will host the penultimate rounds of the Supersport series this Sunday, Sept. 2. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Roger Hayden and Jamie Hacking lead the series, with the youngest of the racing Hayden brothers holding an 11-point margin over the defending champ Hacking. A victory in the most recent round at Virginia International Raceway by Erion Honda’s Josh Hayes has moved him back into contention for the title as well. Hayes is just seven points behind Hacking in third.

Mladin And Team Suzuki Dominate And Win!

Team Yoshimura Suzuki dominated today’s AMA Superbike Championship penultimate round at Road Atlanta and are now assured of the 2006 title, but it all comes down to the final round next month between today’s winner Mat Mladin and team mate and series leader Ben Spies. Mladin won his fourth Superbike race in a row from Spies with Aaron Yates third – the same result as yesterday – but with just 20 points between first and second, the final round at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on October 1st will be an exciting showdown for the GSX-R1000-mounted team.

Yoshimura Suzuki Dominates Road Atlanta

Mat Mladin led a Team Yoshimura Suzuki clean sweep in today’s first leg of the AMA Superbike Championship ‘Suzuki Superbike Showdown’ at Road Atlanta in Georgia with team mates Ben Spies and Aaron Yates joining him on the victory podium. It was Mladin’s sixth win of the season; his third in a row; and 49th of his career which saw him grab back five championship points from Championship leader Spies.

Bostrom New Formula Xtreme Leader

Eric Bostrom comes into Road Atlanta’s Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme race the new series leader. The championship is far from over however, as Bostrom’s teammate, and former series leader, Jason DiSalvo and Erion Racing Honda’s Josh Hayes are just a few points back. Whoever wins at Road Atlanta this Saturday, Sept. 2, will likely have the series lead as the championship heads to the final round at Mid-Ohio on Sept. 30.

Open Season In Road Atlanta’s Supersport Championship Round

Road Atlanta Celebrates 35th Anniversary Of Hosting National Road Races

When the AMA Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited visits Road Atlanta this Labor Day weekend, Friday, Sept. 1 through Sunday Sept. 3, for the Suzuki Superbike Showdown presented by Makita, it will mark the 35th anniversary of the very first AMA road race national held at the scenic facility in Braselton, Ga.
