AIM Yamaha Bring Points in at Oulton
08 May 2008
Both AIM Yamaha riders, Steve Plater and Ian Hutchinson brought more points back to the team from Oulton Park on Monday, Plater scoring a 12th place in the second Superbike race and Hutchy a ninth on the Supersport event. A few niggling teething issues with the bike disrupted Plater’s free practice sessions but these appeared to be resolved in time for the 50- minute qualification period on Sunday. As the track began to dry Plater switched to a qualifying tyre but on the run to Druids the chain snapped and he had to jog back to the garage and jump on his spare bike.

At Thruxton Seventh for Jessopp
17 April 2007
Riders Racing Ducati rider Martin Jessopp secured a confidence building seventh position in the British Supersport Championship at Thruxton circuit this weekend. The 21-year-old from Yeovil rode a strong race despite the fact that a stone had put a hole in the radiator in the early stages of the race causing the Ducati to overheat throughout the race, this also effected the power delivery of the bike and therefore he had to bring the 749 home in a good top ten position.

The 29-year-old Japanese racer handed a cheque to Randy Mamola for 5000 Euros for the UK-based organisation. Shinya said: “Every year I like to do something for charity and Riders for Health is the motorcycle racers’ favourite charity. Every year I do the Day of Champions day at Donington Park, but this year I wanted to do something extra, which is why I made this donation. I think it’s so important what Riders for Health does, using motorcycles to help people less fortunate than ourselves.”
