The Motorcycle Action Group is co-ordinating a campaign to retain the Isle of Wight motorcycle test centre. Motorcyclists on the Isle of Wight will face a long and expensive journey to the mainland in order to take their motorcycle licence test under plans to abolish the islands only motorcycle test centre. This has come about due to the new motorcycle riding test which comes into force in October 2008 which will require purpose built off road test centres.
2008 will be upon us before we know it and planning for the exciting new World of BMW Activity Programme is now complete. More than two thousand customers enjoyed a World of BMW experience in 2007 and 2008 is set to be another exciting year for World of BMW with new courses on offer, more BMW Motorcycles to ride, together with more dates and activities to choose from.
Motorcycle rider trainers will get their first opportunity to try out the new bike test for themselves on Sunday (1 July 2007) as the Motorcycle Rider Training Association (MRTA) puts on a special trial event.
BMW Motorrad’s Rider Training facility is a new initiative for 2006 and includes a Direct Access programme for anyone aged 21 or over to obtain a full motorcycle licence. People with absolutely no motorcycling experience as well as those who have already obtained a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) qualification are catered for in the range of courses available.
