Isle of Wright MCPT

The Motorcycle Action Group is co-ordinating a campaign to retain the Isle of Wight motorcycle test centre. Motorcyclists on the Isle of Wight will face a long and expensive journey to the mainland in order to take their motorcycle licence test under plans to abolish the islands only motorcycle test centre. This has come about due to the new motorcycle riding test which comes into force in October 2008 which will require purpose built off road test centres.

KTM 690 Baja Comes Through Baja Aragon With Flying Colours

The 690 Baja, the KTM machine that has been designed with the Baja races in mind, has just come through its second baptism of fire in real race conditions, proving its worth as a stable, reliable and highly competitive racing machine. After an excellent performance in the Baja 500 race in Mexico earlier this year, the machine, this time in the expert hands of KTM's Spanish factory rider Marc Coma, has just absolved the Baja Aragon in the semi desert area of Spain. The bike now gets to all clear to tackle the Baja 1000 desert race classic (Las Vegas - Reno) on August 28.

Try Out New Bike Test This Sunday With Motorcycle Rider Trainer

Tom Tom Rider 2 Coming

Tom Tom, makers of the popular motorcycle satellite navigation system, Rider, accidentally released a sneak peek of their new Rider 2 product, the follow-up to the existing product, on their website recently. No details are available other than the screen-shots shown here from an animation that was subsequently taken off their site once the mistake was realised. There's now no longer any mention of the Rider 2 on the Tom Tom website.

New motorcyclists learn with BMW Motorrad

BMW Motorrad’s Rider Training facility is a new initiative for 2006 and includes a Direct Access programme for anyone aged 21 or over to obtain a full motorcycle licence. People with absolutely no motorcycling experience as well as those who have already obtained a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) qualification are catered for in the range of courses available.
