Repsol Honda Team riders Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden will tackle the inaugural Indianapolis Grand Prix using pneumatic-valve RC212V machines. This is the first time that both riders will race with Honda’s pneumatic-valve engine. Until now Pedrosa has raced a conventional spring-valve engine, while Hayden first raced the pneumatic-valve engine at June’s British Grand Prix. Pedrosa opted to use the new machine following an impressive post-San Marino GP test session during which he enjoyed the pneumatic-valve engine’s superior performance.

Pedrosa Enjoys Positive Misano Test
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa had an intensive day of testing at Misano today, making his debut with Bridgestone tyres and testing Honda’s pneumatic-valve RC212V. He enjoyed a positive feeling with the tyres and set a fast pace at the end of the day using the pneumatic-valve machine. Pedrosa rode from 13.30 to 18.15, starting out with the spring-valve RCV that he used during the weekend’s San Marino GP. The Spaniard began the process of adjusting bike set-up to suit the Bridgestones and got on well with the tyres.

Repsol Honda’s Pedrosa Fourth at Misano
Repsol Honda RC212V rider Dani Pedrosa battled for a podium result at red-hot Misano this afternoon, the Spaniard eventually finishing fourth to bolster his third place in the World Championship. Team-mate Nicky Hayden did not race to prevent further aggravating his right foot injury. Pedrosa rode a strong race in 35 degree heat, announcing that he is on the way back to full fitness following the left hand and wrist injuries he suffered in last month’s German GP. He completed the first lap in second place, slipped to fifth, then fought back in the mid-stages to challenge for third place. It was his best result since he finished a brilliant second in June’s Dutch MotoGP round

Honda & Michelin Reach Agreement For Remainder Of '08 MotoGP Season
7 Days ago
For 24 years Michelin and Honda have worked together at the highest level of motorcycle racing. Together the two companies have won 14 premier-class World Championships. The two companies fully understand the importance of the “feeling” between the rider and the equipment he has at his disposal, especially tyres. Despite making an excellent start to the season and leading the World Championship going into the German GP, during the last few races Dani Pedrosa has made it know to both Michelin and Honda that he doesn’t feel at ease with the tyres that Michelin have offered him.

Repsol Honda Make steady Start in Misano
30 August 2008
Repsol Honda riders Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrosa made a steady start to this weekend’s San Marino Grand Prix, ending the first day of practice 11th and 12th fastest. Hayden is making his return following a foot injury sustained in a Supermoto incident at the Los Angeles X Games on August 1. The American cracked two bones in his right heel and is still walking with the aid of a walking stick or crutches because the less weight he puts on the foot, the quicker the bones will heal. Foot injuries are a significant handicap for bike racers, because they pressure the footrests to steer the motorcycle.

Repsol Honda Back to Full Strength
22 August 2008
The Repsol Honda Team will be back to full strength for the San Marino Grand Prix, with Nicky Hayden coming back from injury to rejoin team-mate Dani Pedrosa. Hayden missed the recent Czech GP due to a foot injury sustained during an X Games Supermoto event in Los Angeles on August 1. Doctors told the 2006 MotoGP World Champion that a hasty return to racing might complicate the right-heel injury, advising him to delay his comeback until Misano.

Disappointing Day for KTM 125 cc line-up at Czech GP
19 August 2008
The 125 cc Czech Grand Prix on the Brno racing circuit proved to be a disappointing day for the KTM line-up with Spanish Repsol KTM rider Esteve Rabat the only one finishing in the championship points. Rabat finished in thirteenth place while Onde 2000 KTM rider Pablo Nieto was second fastest in sixteenth place. His team-mate Raffaele de Rosa, who was the fastest on Saturday in the rain, went out in the first round. De Rosa's bike had an engine seizure and he had a high speed crash in sixth gear. The Neapolitan was lucky to come away unscathed and uninjured.

Pedrosa & Okada Test at Brno
19 August 2008
Repsol Honda RC212V rider Dani Pedrosa and HRC test rider Tadayuki Okada took to the track at Brno Yesterday, following the Repsol Honda team’s difficult Czech GP weekend. The weather conditions were perfect, allowing both riders to start testing at 10.30am, with Pedrosa riding his RC212V with spring valves while Okada rode the pneumatic-valve machine usually ridden by Nicky Hayden, who missed Brno due to a foot injury. Pedrosa stopped testing at 12.30pm, while Okada continued for the rest of the day. The Japanese rider, who gave the pneumatic-valve RC212V its race debut at June’s Italian GP, tested updated engine parts and electronics.

Grip Problems Consign Pedrosa to 15th Place
17 August 2008
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa had a demoralising ride to 15th in this afternoon’s Czech Grand Prix, the Spaniard badly troubled by tyre problems. Pedrosa, returning from the hand and wrist injuries he sustained during last month’s German GP, struggled throughout the weekend with lack of grip, his Michelin tyres not up to the expected level of performance in practice or today’s race. Yesterday he qualified 12th in a rain-lashed qualifying session. Despite the problems Pedrosa is still third in the World Championship points standings, with six of eighteen rounds remaining.

Pedrosa on Row Four at Rain-Lashed Brno
16 August 2008
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa will commence the second part of the 2008 MotoGP season in tomorrow’s Czech Grand Prix from the fourth row of the grid. The Spaniard was 12th quickest in this afternoon’s qualifying session, run on a rain-soaked racetrack. This morning’s practice session was also run in the wet, though the rain was heavier this afternoon and intensified as the session went on, the track waterlogged in several places by the time the chequered flag came out. Like most riders, Pedrosa rode his fastest lap in the earlier stages when there was less surface water.

Difficult Day For Repsol Honda’s Pedrosa
16 August 2008
The Repsol Honda Team had a tough first day of practice at Brno today, its sole rider Dani Pedrosa completing the first two sessions in 16th position. Pedrosa is still struggling with the broken left wrist and index finger he suffered when he crashed out of the lead of the German GP on July 13. He is also having some issues with tyre choice.

Nicky Hayden To Miss Czech GP
12 August 2008
Repsol Honda rider Nicky Hayden will miss this weekend’s Czech Grand Prix due to a foot injury sustained during a Supermoto event at the X Games in Los Angeles on August 1st. The 2006 MotoGP World Champion injured his right foot when he landed heavily from a jump. Following the incident Hayden visited eminent orthopaedic surgeon Dr Arthur Ting and sought the opinion of other specialists who finally advised (yesterday afternoon, US time) that he should rest the injury to avoid further complications and return at the San Marino GP at the end of the month. The damage is to the calcaneus, or heel area, of the foot.

Repsol Honda’s Hayden Takes Fifth in US GP
21 July 2008
Repsol Honda rider Nicky Hayden ended a tough weekend at Laguna Seca this afternoon with a determined ride to fifth place. The American was the Repsol Honda team’s sole representative in the US GP after team-mate Dani Pedrosa yesterday withdrew due to the severity of the injuries he suffered in Germany last Sunday. Hayden made a great start from the front row of the grid, holding third place for the first seven laps. He then spent the middle stage of the race battling for fourth place with Andrea Dovizioso, eventually finishing just behind the Italian. Hayden won this race in 2005 and 2006 but today he recorded his fastest-ever Laguna race time, 25 seconds quicker than his winning 2006 pace. He was a non-finisher last year.

Repsol Honda’s Hayden Scores US GP Front Row
20 July 2008
Repsol Honda rider Nicky Hayden will start tomorrow’s US GP from the front row of the grid following a stirring charge in the final stages of this afternoon’s qualifying session. In warm, sunny conditions that followed another misty start to the day, Hayden rode his fastest-ever lap of Laguna Seca, almost 1.2 seconds faster than his 2007 qualifying pace. The American, winner here in 2005 and 2006, will tomorrow aim for his first podium of the 2008 season to back up his first front-row start since June’s Catalan GP.

Brave Pedrosa Withdraws From US GP
20 July 2008
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa will not ride in tomorrow’s US GP. The Spaniard decided to withdraw from the event this morning, suffering excruciating pain from the left hand and wrist injuries he suffered in a high-speed crash during last Sunday’s German GP. Pedrosa fractured his left index finger and the big bone of his left wrist, as well as suffering a badly sprained right ankle, in the fall. Following a consultation with his specialist Dr Xavier Mir in Barcelona, Pedrosa bravely elected to travel to California to attempt to race and score some points. Going into the German GP he had been leading the World Championship.

Repsol Honda’s Hayden Second On Day One

Hayden, wearing a special Olympics-themed helmet and leathers design for his home race, is working hard to close the gap on current pace-setter Casey Stoner. Full Repsol Honda Line-Up At MotoGP’s Rodeo Racetrack
16 July 2008
Dani Pedrosa will join Repsol Honda team-mate Nicky Hayden at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix, despite the heavy tumble he took during last Sunday’s rain-lased German GP. World Championship challenger Pedrosa was leading the race when he fell at high speed, fracturing the left index finger and the big bone of the left wrist and spraining his right ankle. After the accident he immediately returned to Spain where he was treated by the doctor Xavier Mir at Barcelona’s Instituto Universitari Dexeus hospital. He left hospital at noon on Tuesday and flew to the US on Wednesday.
