Applications Now Open for the 2009 MotoGP Rookies Cup!!

The second season of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is underway and Spaniard Luis Salom leads American JD Beach by just 3 points in the early stages of this year's Cup chase. Time then for those inspired by the tales of international adventure, high speed action and daring to sign up for the 2009 Cup. Applications are now open to all junior racing enthusiasts born between January 1st 1992 and December 31st 1995.

Savadori Start's The Engine For 1st Italian Championship Race

On Sunday 20th April, the opening race of the 125GP Road Racing Italian Championship will be held on the historical track of Mugello. Lorenzo Savadori, a young talented rider from Cesena, Italy, is already author of great important races, will surely be one of the protagonists of the new season. Last year he only participated in a few races of the 125GP Road Racing Italian Championship as he was part of the Red Bull Rookies Cup, that brought him on the main European tracks and where he obtained a final second place thanks to a couple of victories, and a second position he obtained right here at Mugello. In 2007 he took part in four of the six Italian Championship races, making his debut in the opening race and immediately conquering a historical pole position, setting an important new record on the Mugello track.

Final Selection Event – Paul Ricard

After two extremely demanding days at Paul Ricard in the South of France twelve young riders are being invited to join the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2008. It becomes a truly global series with riders from Australia, Africa and Japan joining the challenge to find future World Champions from a total of sixteen nationalities.

Red Bull Rookies Cup At KTM Festival 07

The KTM Festival, being held at the Hungaroring from September 7-9, is one feature richer with the news that it will host an additional race in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies 2007 series. The 23 starters in this high-class, next generation racing series have already thrilled the crowds in Jerez at the Spanish MotoGP and at Mugello for the Italian GP. Thousands of fans, the international media and the entire GP pit community have been impressed with the efforts and the skills of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies.

Lorenzo Savadori Takes First Win

Italian Lorenzo Savadori, riding number 32, will only celebrate his 14th birthday on April 4 but that did not stop him taking victory in the first ever Red Bull Rookies Cup at Jerez Spain. Lorenzo streaked home on the Jerez circuit in the inaugural Rookies Cup race on Sunday ahead of Luis Jamie Salom of Spain and Johann Zarco of France in the 15 lap race in what was a huge experience for the budding young riders.

'Ready To Race' - KTM Offers Highest Technical Standards

In the 125cc world championship, this year’s KTM riders are Tomoyoshi Koyama (JPN), Randy Krummenacher (SUI) and Stevie Bonsey (USA). Mika Kallio (FIN) and Hiroshi Aoyama (JPN) will fight for KTM wins and the title in the 250cc world championship. The rider to earn the overall victory in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be known in Valencia at the latest. But in any event the winner is – KTM.

In the spring of 2006, an idea sprung to life committed, ambitious and focused on an objective. Dorna, KTM and Red Bull decided on the biggest talent search in international motorcycle racing. More than 1,100 applications from 60 countries were received within a few weeks – among them 103 interested young ladies, who were looking to find their way into MotoGP. The following steps lay ahead of these young, 13 to 16 year old talents.

23 Rookies Will Compete In The First European Round In Jerez '07

On March 25th, Round 1 of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2007 gets under way at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain: The biggest talent search in motorcyle racing history will start its first race. Originally, after the Selection Event at the “Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo” on 28 August 2006, the best twenty riders were selected and nominated for the Rookies Cup.

The twenty were chosen after a phenomenal response to the invitation for them to try their luck, with a total number of applicants topping 1,100 young talents.
