Kallio and Simon battle it out for third in Australian GP - Red Bull KTM 250 star Mika Kallio and Spanish Repsol KTM rider Julian Simon fought a hard battle for the third podium place in Sunday's 250 cc Australian GP with Kallio snatching the glory in the final seconds. Rabat fastest 125cc KTM in Phillip Island - Spain's Esteve Rabat was KTM's best rider in the 125 cc category conquering seventh place in a tough battle of a tight pack of riders, which included his Repsol KTM team-mate Marc Marquez who crossed in eighth position.

KTM 250 riders & 125 cc training on Phillip Island

All three KTM 250 riders qualified in top positions for Sunday's Australian Grand Prix, with Red Bull KTM's Mika Kallio in second, team-mate Hiroshi Aoyama in fourth and Spanish Repsol KTM 250 rider Julian Simon in sixth place. Italian Raffaele de Rosa was fastest of KTM's seven rider 125 cc line-up, pushing his Onde 2000 KTM to seventh position on the grid ahead of the GP of Australia on the Phillip Island circuit.

Koyama Turns on One of Season's Best 125 cc Races for Home Town Fans

Local hero Tomoyoshi Koyama from Team ISPA KTM Aran was best KTM rider in the 125 cc category and celebrated eleventh place with a huge burn-out in front of his home crowd. It was one of the diminutive Japanese rider's best results for the 2008 season. Meanwhile German Red Bull KTM rookie Jonas Folger rode much faster than in practice and was close to the point rankings throughout the race, despite suffering from a stomach upset

Julian Simon Celebrates 4th and Season's Best in Japan 250 GP

Repsol KTM 250 rider Julian Simon battled his way to fourth place in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix on the Motegi circuit and celebrated his best result so far aboard his KTM FRR 250. But while Simon enjoyed an almost flawless and trouble-free weekend, Red Bull KTM riders Hiroshi Aoyama and Mika Kallio had their hopes of a podium double dashed on the circuit where both of them have won in the past. Both ran into unexpected problems during the race.

Hayden and Honda to Say Farewell

Difficult day for Tech 3 Yamaha in Stormy Indianapolis

The Tech 3 Yamaha team had a difficult day in atrocious conditions during a weather-hit inaugural Indianapolis MotoGP race today. Texan Colin Edwards battled driving rain and fierce and unpredictable winds to claim 15th place, while British team-mate James Toseland couldn’t convert a promising early part of the 28-lap race into a point-scoring finish.

Stoner 4th at Hurricane Hit Indy, Melandri 19th

Casey Stoner came home a solid fourth in a treacherously difficult Indianapolis Grand Prix, which was hit by severely adverse weather that led to the race being interrupted by red flags with eight of the scheduled laps still remaining. Stoner battled throughout the race with Andrea Dovizioso despite losing rear grip in the early stages and was relieved merely to come out of it in one piece and with a decent points haul.

Andrea Dovizioso Takes Magnificent 5th Place in the Indianapolis Storm

The weekend of the Indianapolis Grand Prix was marked by uncertain weather conditions, which were continuously changing, leading to the race being stopped with eight laps to go. The race, which started in the rain, saw Andrea Dovizioso battling for the lead in the early laps. After an excellent start, he led the race and took on the World’s best. Then, the increasingly intense rain and wind, which increased in strength, influenced the outcome of the race, leading to the premature end of the race with Andrea in fifth position.

First Ever Wet Podium for Lorenzo in Indianapolis Downpour

Jorge Lorenzo made the podium in a wet race for the very first time in his entire career today, claiming third place at the inaugural Indianapolis Grand Prix at the famous ‘Brickyard’. The 21-year-old Spaniard has now finished on the podium on each of the five occasions he has qualified on the front row in his rookie season and he was joined once again by his Fiat Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi, who took his seventh victory of the season with a masterful display of wet-weather riding.

Spies Shines in the Indy Gloom

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP wildcard racer Ben Spies rode to a superb sixth place in atrocious conditions during the inaugural Indianapolis Grand Prix today. Spies pushed hard all race as he was involved in a battle for fourth place with reigning World Champion Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso. The new AMA Superbike Champion looked set to make an attack on both riders towards the end of the race, but conditions deteriorated so dramatically after 20 laps the race was stopped, and the result was declared as it stood at that time.

MotoGP news - Indy Grand Prix

The MotoGP stars took everything the weather could throw at them at the very first Red Bull Indy Grand Prix at Indianapolis to produce an amazing race that virtually assured the 2008 World Championship for Valentino Rossi. Torrential rain and gale force winds brought the race to a premature end but not before Rossi had secured his seventh win of the season to open up an 87 point lead over Casey Stoner with just four rounds of the Championship remaining.

MotoGP Rookies' Take Home the Cup.

The Red Bull Riders Cup was seized by the visiting MotoGP Rookies Team as they swept the leaderboard at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In tricky damp to wet conditions 16 year old Norwegian Sturla Fagerhaug rode superbly to head home 16 year old South African Mathew Scholtz and 17 year old Briton Matthew Hoyle.

Andrea Dovizioso Still Competitive With Fifth in Indianapolis

The last round of free practice for the Indianapolis Grand Prix in the MotoGP class has confirmed Andrea Dovizioso competitive even on a dry track. Despite forecasts that announced intense rain, the sky above the circuit remained dry. The track, wet from rain overnight, slowly dried and allowed the JiR Team Scot rider to finally get out on a track with dry weather tyres. During the first half of the session with grooved tyres and a wet track, Dovi was up at the front and continued to occupy the top positions until the end of the session. In an hour, which saw the first nine riders covered by a single second, the fifth time by Andrea is a good sign for the qualifying session, which will be held later this afternoon and is scheduled to finish at 15.00hrs local time.

Heavy rain dominated the long-awaited opening day of the inaugural Indianapolis MotoGP today, with Tech 3 Yamaha’s Colin Edwards and James Toseland battling treacherous conditions to finish 15th and 17th respectively.
