Pauli Pekkanen Races for KTM in FIM Superstock 1000 World Cup

The KTM Maehr Superstock Team, this year contesting their first season onboard KTM's recently released 1190 RC8, is being reinforced as of the next race in Brno, Czech Republic with a second rider, Finnish racer Pauli Pekkanen. Pekkanen joins Rene Maehr as the second rider in what is the company's first season in Superstock, one in which KTM and the team is dedicated to gaining experience with the bike and in a whole new category of motor sports activity. Sending the RC8 straight on to the racing circuits is yet another extension of KTM‘s Ready to Race philosophy for the manufacturer that is one of the world leaders in the production of sports motorcycles.

Extra RC8 Models Secured For UK

KTM UK have managed to secure an additional 30 units of the companies new superbike, the 1190 RC8, which has been launched to outstanding reviews from the press and owners alike. These extra units should now allow customers who have not already placed a deposit to get the bike before the end of the year. Anybody interested should go to their local authorised KTM street dealer immediately to ensure they secure a bike and avoid disappointment.

British-based crash protection specialists, R&G Racing, have revealed a full range of parts to help protect the awesome new KTM RC8 and also sharpen the styling. The crash protectors have been carefully constructed in order to defend as much of the machine as possible without upsetting the Austrian superbike’s unique design and blending in where possible.

Tough Racing Weekend in Assen for Rene Maehr & the RC8

Following a first impressive appearance in Valencia, Spain, which unfortunately ended in a crash, Rene Maehr suffered a difficult Superstock racing weekend in at the Dutch racing circuit in Assen and was only able to finish in sixteenth place. Even in training Rene was not 100 percent satisfied. The motorcycle had lived completely up to expectations and he felt very confident but in the deciding moments of qualifying he faced heavy and at times chaotic traffic on the circuit. He did not manage a good clean lap, finishing in only nineteenth start slot.
