Firecracker Finale Awaits San Carlo Gresini at Valencia

The MotoGP World Championship paddock returns to Europe this weekend for the final event on the 2009 calendar, the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana. A firecracker atmosphere awaits the teams and riders on their return from a transcontinental expedition to Australia and Malaysia, which has seen San Carlo Honda Gresini riders Alex de Angelis and Toni Elias draw level in the championship standings on 105 points, tied for ninth place but just three points shy of seventh.

Yamaha Unveils Ben Spies’ Livery for Valencia

The Sterilgarda Yamaha Team have unveiled the special one-off livery for 2009 World Superbike Champion Ben Spies ahead of his wildcard ride at the final MotoGP race in Valencia this weekend. Spies will be riding the Yamaha YZR-M1 prior to joining the Tech3 Yamaha Team next Monday to start testing for the 2010 season.

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP in Spain for Final Round of 2009

Rizla Suzuki has travelled back to Europe for the final instalment of the 2009 season with both riders in contention for seventh position in the World Championship. Loris Capirossi currently sits in eighth place in the championship race, but is level on points with current seventh place incumbent Marco Melandri, whilst team-mate Chris Vermeulen is only three points behind Capirossi in 11th place. With four other riders all in with a chance of seventh, the final round will certainly present a race within a race as the six will be going all out to get the best finish possible.

After Monday's medical check up at Melbourne hospital Niccolò Canepa is unluckily obligated to miss the Malaysian race to be able to recover at the best and ride in the season final race at Valencia. The Italian rider, after the skin transplant done on Friday, will have to maintain the injured arm at rest so that the cut will not open again and it will not risk any infections.
