Hammers Drop Tomicek
Lubos Tomicek, the Lakeside Hammers Czech reserve, has informed the Essex based Club that, owing to his continued worries over the reaction to his head injuries should he fly and his wish to race in both the Czech Golden Helmet this coming Sunday and his Grandfather’s Memorial meeting on the Monday, he will be unavailable for the home leg of the Elite League Play-Off Final, which takes place against the Poole Pirates at the Arena-Essex Raceway this coming Monday.

Hammers Claim Vital Win Over the Eagles
06 August 2008
The Lakeside Hammers roared to a superb 19 point win over play-off hopefuls, the Eastbourne Eagles, on Monday night at their Arena-Essex Raceway. The match, which was sponsored by the Royal Air Force, was screened live by Sky Sports and provided some great racing for not only the fans at the Raceway but also the large TV audience. Time and time again the Eagles riders made better starts than the home side but the Hammers riders repeatedly found their way from the back with manoeuvres that saw them come through both on the inside and outside of their opponents.

Hammers Take All the Points but it's a Vital Week Ahead
01 August 2008
The Lakeside Hammers have taken all five available Sky Sports Elite League points from their two matches this week following their home win against the 2007 treble Champions Coventry on Wednesday and away at play-off hopefuls Ipswich on Thursday. Those five vital League points move the Essex Club up into second place in the table one point below leaders Poole, who have ridden two matches more and one point above Swindon who have ridden three more matches. In fourth place are Eastbourne who are six points behind the Hammers but have ridden four more matches.

Hammers Skipper Prepares To See Off Pirate Invasion
30 May 2008
The Lakeside Hammers captain, Australian Adam Shields, is looking forward to Friday’s top of the table Sky Sports Elite League clash against the Poole Pirates, which takes place at the Hammer Arena-Essex Raceway. Shields, who started his UK career in the Premier League with the Isle of Wight Islanders, will be up against fellow Australians Davey Watt and Chris Holder, who also were first seen in this County in the Islanders colours. He will also face Pole Krzysztof Kasprzak, who rode as the Hammers No1 last season. The Pole is due to end a short return to racing with the Pirates after Friday’s match having come into their side as a temporary replacement for their injured captain, Bjarne Pedersen.

Hammers Keep Focused
23 May 2008
Despite there being no action at the Arena-Essex Raceway this Friday the Hammers riders are keeping fully focused as they now look to face Poole in a vital top of the table clash the following Friday, 30th May. Following their superb victory over Eastbourne last Friday, which saw the Hammers come from behind to claim the important two League points, the team had expected a relatively easy couple of weeks. However that has all changed following a further amendment to the fixtures that now sees them revert back to facing the Poole Pirates, who were originally lined up to be their opposition on 30th May.
