Foret 3rd Overall In The Standings
08 October 2007
Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) ended his WSS season in third place in the championship, despite suffering a DNF at Magny-Cours. The 2002 World Champion started the race from fifth place, but had to pull in on lap 13 ending his race due to an electrical problem that affected the performance of his engine. Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) was another non-finisher, having to park his bike out on track after it stopped on lap five.

Home Finish For Foret With Advantage To Maintain
02 October 2007
Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) has a simple goal to reach this weekend - secure second place in the championship for him, his team and Kawasaki. Currently Foret has a 15-point advantage over Broc Parkes, and four podium finishes to his credit, including a magnificent win at Phillip Island, in round two. Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) has been an important part in the team’s development of the new-for-2007 machine but at this race it will be a simple case of going for the best result possible, to finish the season with a flourish. Riba has scored no podiums in 2007, but earned a tremendous pole position at Donington way back in March.

Vallelunga Offers Little To Supersport Duo
01 October 2007
Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) and Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) found their hopes of strong points scoring finishes dashed in a shortened Vallelunga WSS race, with Foret the only rider to finish in the top 15. His two points for 14th place were two more than his team-mate Riba could gain, after he suspected a problem with his front tyre and came into the pits to retire on the tenth lap.

Tough Day For Foret & Riba
10 September 2007
Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) kept his second place in the WSS championship rankings today, despite being unable to finish the 23-lap Eurospeedway Lausitz race. Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) experienced similar problems to his team-mate, severe chatter from the rear, and that negated his push for championship points, as he finished 17th. He also experienced premature rear tyre wear and that also slowed his overall progress.

Rain Stops Play For Riba & Foret
09 September 2007
With the second qualifying session proving to be wet at Eurospeedway Lausitz Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) and Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) were deprived of a second chance to improve their qualifying positions from day one. Thanks to their times in the first dry qualifying session, Riba will now line up on row three for the race, after scoring 12th best laptime, while Foret now has to start from 18th place on the grid.

Foret 6th After Hot Competition At Brands
07 August 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) rode his heart out to finish sixth at Brands Hatch having to fight his way forward from 12th place on the grid, and 13th place after the first lap. His team-mate Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) ended his Brands Hatch race weekend 11th, unable to match his love for the track layout with his machine set-up on raceday. The race was run in warm track conditions, of 44°C, and in ambient air temperatures approaching 30°C, making it hot and hard work around the spectacularly undulating 3.702km circuit. Foret found it tough to get forward motion due to a lack of traction, but made up ground to finish ten seconds from the win.

Riba 11th In Brands Hatch Qualifying
05 August 2007
Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) was the top Kawasaki qualifier at a hot and humid Brands Hatch, scoring 11th place on the grid with a 1’29.124 lap. Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R), currently second in the championship fight, finished 12th fastest and will thus join Riba on the third row of the grid. Qualifying in WSS was a close contest as usual, with the top 12 riders finishing within 0.789 seconds of pole.

Foret Scorches To A Podium Finish At Brno
25 July 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) scored a stunning podium finish of third after a tough practice and qualifying period at Brno, earning his 16 points after overtaking two riders on the very last lap, just as another two leading riders fell. Brno was Foret’s fourth podium of the season, and keeps him in second place overall, with a total of 116 points, 70 down on Kenan Sofuoglu’s 186 with four rounds remaining.

Hot Track And Hard Work For Foret And Riba
22 July 2007
A tough two days of practice and qualifying under a punishing Czech sun saw both Fabien Foret (Gil Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) and Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) struggle to make an impact on the final grid positions, despite taking part in a test at Brno last month. The conditions in the test were cooler than were experienced during the race weekend so far, and that contributed to Foret finishing only 11th fastest, with Riba a highly uncharacteristic 26th.

Kawasaki Stars Return To Do Battle Once More
18 July 2007
The ninth of 13 World Supersport Championship rounds take place at Brno this weekend and the 5.394km circuit will witness 2002 World Champion Fabien Foret once more taking the fight to long time championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu. With five rounds still to be scored, Foret is determined to reduce the 61 point lead enjoyed by Sofuoglu, and thus put himself into a position to make a final push to pressurise his rival in the last couple of rounds. Fabien has already proved the abilities of his new ZX-6R machine, first when he took the win at Phillip Island, and followed up this ultimate success with two further podiums to date, at Assen and Monza.

Foret And Riba Knuckle Down At Official Tests
09 July 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) secured the ninth best time at the two-day official Vallelunga tests, just holding off his team-mate Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) in the final analysis of lap times. Each rider put in a significant degree of work at this new circuit, matching the best efforts of the team, but as yet the stopwatches have not demonstrated the true abilities of both men and machines. The high track temperatures and schizophrenic nature of the new 4.110km track - fast and flowing to start and almost impossibly tight and twisty to finish - merely complicated matters, especially when concentrating on choosing tyres and race set-ups for a race to be held in the much cooler conditions of late September.

Testing Times For Foret And Riba At Brno
28 June 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) and his 2007 team-mate Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) completed a valuable two-day test at Brno in the Czech Republic, having learned much about the new range of Pirelli tyres and machine set-up for the race in late July. Foret also tried out a new engine specification for part of the test and pronounced it a useful improvement as the final five rounds of the season now beckon. Foret, currently second overall in the championship race, was seventh fastest on day two of the test, but concentrated his efforts on looking for the optimal set-up for the race.

Fabien Foret’s Podium Challenge Ends After Collision
19 June 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) was chasing a podium position in the Misano Supersport race when a collision with another rider, whom Foret had just passed into the first chicane, caused the French rider to fall on lap three, and lose his chance of finishing.

Fabien Foret On Front Row At Steaming Misano
17 June 2007
A hot and competitive final qualifying session determined all for the final line-up of the Misano World Circuit grid, and a lap of 1’39.376 put Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) third for the start of Sunday’s 22 lap race.

Foret Recovers From Crash To Secure Top Five In Qualifying
27 May 2007
After a sometimes-eventful final day of practice at Silverstone Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) ended up fifth on the grid for Sunday’s 28-lap Supersport race. Foret had taken a high-speed tumble in the untimed morning session, but recovered well to score a top five in the final pre-race rankings. The 2002 World Champion and all his peers will probably find the circuit wet for the race, but in the final dry qualifying session today he was just over a second from pole.

Foret Second After Thrilling Battle
15 May 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) continued his impressive 2007 form on his new Kawasaki by securing second place after an intense 16-lap battle, which included full contact with another rider as he approached the finish line. Foret was only ninth on lap one, and only got up to second on lap 15, such is the need for slipstreaming in normal circumstances at Monza. Foret, no ordinary rider and on no ordinary machine, made up the ground he lost in the first chicane by cornering faster and braking harder than riders in front and pulling himself up to the group ahead, despite the lack of slipstream for some parts of the race.

Foret Sixth Fastest In Monza Qualifying
13 May 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) ended the two official qualifying sessions at Monza in sixth place overall, and is thus the top Kawasaki rider on the grid. The Frenchman, winner of the Australian WSS race this season, worked hard in the practice sessions to get himself up to full speed and was only 0.612 seconds from pole, in a close contest at the 5.793km Monza track. At this impossibly fast and evocative circuit, the Kawasaki ZX-6R proved to be as quick as any of the main competitors, registering over 280kmph through the speed trap.

Kawasaki's Foret On The Podium Again
30 April 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) scored his second podium finish of the 2007 season after the 21-lap Assen race and remains second overall, now with a total of 67 championship points to his credit. In finishing third, after overcoming a lowly position on the first lap, Foret extended his advantage over the third placed rider in the championship to 24 points.

Foret On Front Row After Assen Qualifying
28 April 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) claimed the front row start he wished for at Assen, after posting the fourth-quickest lap of the final qualifying session, 1’41.618. Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) could not find a set-up that gave him his desired confidence in the front end to push at his usual high pace and qualified 12th overall with a 1’42.388, and now starts from the third row for Sunday’s 22-lap race.

Kawasaki's Foret Fourth After Challenging Valencia Weekend
16 April 2007
Fabien Foret (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) scored a fourth place at Valencia, and leaves the Spanish circuit second in the championship, on 51 points. His team-mate Pere Riba (GIL Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R) looked set for the win after getting away in the leading group, but a collision with Kevin Curtain saw each rider crash out of contention, on lap nine.
