World Championship winning motocross team Grand Prix Kawasaki Racing have decided to release MX1 rider Kevin Strijbos two races prior to the end of the 2008 GP season.
Grand Prix Kawasaki Racing's Kevin Strijbos is almost certain to miss the next three rounds of the MX1 World Motocross Championship after undergoing minor surgery to repair an injured thumb.
Two weeks after his first GP win, Sébastien Pourcel claimed another podium with a second place in the Czech Republic for the eleventh round of the MX1 world championship. His brother Christophe had a tougher weekend as he was ill, and finished fifth in the MX2 class. Sébastien had a strong qualifying session and earned his second pole position of the season on Saturday followed by Tanel Leok from KRT. Sébastien had a great start from the gate in the first race but in the first corner he touched Ramon’s wheel and crashed.
Livia Lancelot scored the best result for the GPKR team this weekend in Sweden with second position in the Women’s World Cup round. She now holds the red plate going into the third and last round in the Netherlands, while Christophe Pourcel was able to consolidate his second place in the MX2 standings with fourth overall.
