Fairer Rules On Parking Unveiled

Plans for tough new measures to overhaul the country's system of civil parking enforcement were unveiled today by Transport Secretary Douglas Alexander. The draft guidelines make clear that the Government wants local authorities to use parking enforcement powers to keep the traffic flowing and not to raise money. The aim is a fairer system for all.

Review Of Motorcycle Parking In Soho And The West End

WestMinster are currently undertaking a review of parking bays for ‘Powered Two Wheel’ (PTW) vehicles in Soho and the West End. ‘Powered Two Wheel’ vehicles include motorcycles, scooters and mopeds which utilise ‘Solo Motorcycle Bays’ for parking.

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) is encouraging all motorcyclists who ride into the City of Westminster to respond to a web-based consultation on motorcycle parking. The consultation, which closes on the 30th April, focuses on whether there is sufficient provision for motorcycle parking, whether motorcycles should pay for parking, whether secure parking facilities should be provided and whether motorcycles should pay the congestion charge.

News in from MAG UK that will be welcomed by bikers all over the country, who live and work in and around London or commute onto work each day. This is what we have all been waiting for. The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG UK) welcomes the MAG Foundation announcement of the publication of the first A to Z of Secure Bike Parking in Great Britain. The secure parking booklet represents another milestone for the MAG Foundation and aims to provide information not just for riders, but for councils that do not provide secure parking for motorcycles or for those wanting to improve their existing facilities.

Probe after TV claims Parking Attendants took bribes

Two car parking companies were today investigating claims that some parking attendants have resorted to bribes to cancel tickets as well as indulging in theft and illegal ticketing. The allegations were made in a BBC1 Whistleblower programme being screened tonight.
