Bridewell Buoyed for British Championship Return

Following on from a season racing in both the Italian Superbike Championship and the Suzuki GSX-R750 European Cup, this bank holiday weekend at Cadwell Park will see a welcome return for much-loved racer and paddock character Tommy Bridewell, who will return to the UK with the Centurion Racing Team. 19-year-old Tommy Bridewell from Devizes in Wiltshire will ride in place of Dennis Hobbs this weekend at Cadwell. Hobbs has now been ruled out of the remainder of the 2008 season after sustaining serious injuries to his shoulder at Thruxton, Hobbs is now currently waiting on an operation to try and repair the damage. Bridewell will be using one of Dennis' Centurion Honda 600s in the colours of the Chris Jones Riders Fund (www.cjnine.com) for the 16-lap British Supersport race, which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August.

CJ Fund to Donate to Ollie's Charity

This weekend at Oulton Park (20th July) will be a year since the world of motorsport tragically lost Ollie Bridewell at Mallory Park in a racing accident, as a tribute to Ollie the CJ Fund will be donating half the money raised this weekend at Oulton Park to Ollie's nominated Cancer Charity. The Fund will be welcoming some new volunteers this weekend in the hope at raising more money for both nominated charities.

Bridewell Takes To The Skies...

Charlotte Bridewell is to take part in a Charity skydive in memory of brother Ollie... Nearly a year after her younger brother Ollie was killed in an accident, Charlotte Bridewell is marking the anniversary by announcing plans to do a charity skydive in aid of Cancer Research. One of Britain's most promising and popular motorcycle racers, Ollie died during practice for the British Superbike Championship on July 20th at Mallory Park and at his funeral, over £6000 was collected for his favourite charity to which he had a monthly standing order.

Tommy Rocks On At Donington...!

19 year old Wiltshire rider Tommy Bridewell returned to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in style by recording a pair of top twenty finishes at the penultimate round of the series at Donington Park today. Aboard the 1000cc Team NB Suzuki, the Etchilhampton near Devizes rider took his time to get up to speed on Friday following a couple of months out of action but was well on the pace during Saturday's final free practice session when a 130mph crash at the infamous Craner Curves curtailed his session despite him walking away uninjured.

Tommy Rides Again!

19 year old Wiltshire rider Tommy Bridewell plans to make his Bennetts British Superbike Championship comeback at the penultimate round of the series at Donington Park on September 22nd/23rd. After sustaining injuries at the Mondello Park round in June, the Etchilhampton near Devizes rider struggled at the subsequent rounds at Knockhill and Oulton Park prior to the tragic accident which cost the life of his elder brother Ollie at Mallory Park during practice on July 20th.

£6200 Raised For Cancer Research

Following Ollie Bridewell's tragic accident at Mallory Park on Friday 20th July, collections at his funeral at St Mary's Church and donations received since have so far totalled £6200 in aid of Ollie's favoured charity, Cancer Research. It was requested at the funeral that instead of buying reefs, any donations being made, should be given to a favourite charity of Ollie's. The family wish to thank everyone for their generosity and continued support.

Ollie Bridewell - Family Message

Following on from Ollie Bridewell’s tragic accident at Mallory Park on Friday 20th July 2007, his parents Marcus and Liz, brother Tommy and sister Charlotte would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for the messages and tributes that have been received to date. Funeral details have yet to be finalised but it is expected that this will take place on Wednesday 1st August 2007 and further details regarding a time and location will be advised in due course.

Ollie Bridewell Dies At Mallory Park

British Superbikes' Naturally Best rider, Ollie Bridewell has passed away this afternoon in the medical centre at Mallory Park. The talented 21 year old racer from Wiltshire died after a heavy fall in pouring rain during Friday free practice session, prepairing for this weekends races. Ollie sustained a fatal head and neck injuries after falling from his Suzuki machine and colliding with the crash barrier. All activity has stopped at the Leicester circuit.

21 year old Wiltshire rider Ollie Bridewell continued his brilliant form to record another pair of top ten finishes as the not-so-great British summer did its best to disrupt proceedings once again, this time at round eight of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship which was held Oulton Park in Cheshire at the weekend. After splashing his way to an eighth and tenth places at Knockhill aboard the Team NB Suzuki two weeks previously, the racer from Etchilhampton near Devizes overcame wet conditions again to claim a pair of ninth place finishes to make it five points scoring rides in a row as he moved up to 13th in the series standings.

21 year old Wiltshire rider Ollie Bridewell overcame difficult conditions to record a pair of top ten finishes when round seven of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship visited Knockhill in Scotland at the weekend. Riding the Team NB 1000cc Suzuki, the racer from Etchilhampton near Devizes equalled his career-best eighth place in the opening race with another battling top ten placing in the day’s second race at heavy rain threw the meeting into turmoil.

Wiltshire brothers Ollie and Tommy Bridewell continued their impressive start to the 2007 Bennetts British Superbike Championship with another pair of sterling performances at Oulton Park in Cheshire over the Bank Holiday weekend. Aboard the Team NB Suzukis elder brother Ollie (21) got the better of his 18 year old sibling Tommy in both 17-lap races at the Cheshire track as the mixed weather conditions threatened to play havoc with proceedings.

With yet another massive BSB crowd enjoying the continuing heat wave, the picturesque 2.69 mile circuit has never been a big favourite of the riders, and so it looked to be once again as both Ollie and Tom languished down the order after qualifying due to various reasons.

Brothers Tommy and Ollie Bridewell, from Etchilhampton near Devizes in Wiltshire, made the most of their ten hour trip north with a pair of great performances at round eight of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship meeting held at Knockhill in Scotland over the weekend. With yet another bumper BSB crowd enjoying the warm Fife sunshine, 17 year old Tommy made it six points scoring rides in seven races when he took a fine 12th place in the British Supersport Championship aboard the 600cc Vivaldi Suzuki despite a last minute drama on the warm up lap which nearly put paid to his chances.

Etchilhampton near Devizes in Wiltshire racing brothers Tommy and Ollie Bridewell once again experienced mixed fortunes at another hot and sunny round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship when round seven was contested at Snetterton in Norfolk this weekend. 17 year old Tommy continued where he left off at Mallory Park two weeks previous by recording another top ten placing in the British Supersport Championship whereas 20 year old Ollie endured even more bad luck in both races of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship to return home once again pointless.
