In what was effectively his first competitive outing of the season, Ian Lougher once again graced the podium at Saturday’s Kennedy International North-West 200 when he took the Team Blackhorse Yamaha R6 to third place finishes in both Supersport races. The meeting began with disappointment for Ian when he was forced to retire on the third lap of the DeWalt Performance Tools Superbike race with handling problems on the Yamaha R1 Superbike.
The twenty year old Team Blackhorse Yamaha rider Olie Linsdell was well on the pace at Thruxton and was hugely disappointed after his crash on the last lap of qualifying, which left him with an injured left shoulder and unable to start the race. Thankfully the injury has healed well and Olie and the team are determined to get their season underway at the picturesque and challenging Cheshire circuit which has hosted some of the great races of yesteryear and where sections such as Lodge, OldHall, Knickerbrook and Druids are familiar to the riders and dedicated race fan alike.
