The first of December was an unbelievable night at the Salle des Etoiles in Monaco, Monte Carlo. The third edition of the FIM Off-Road Awards was a superb celebration where all the Off-Road World and European Champions received their prize after an extremely tough but successful season of racing.

Cairoli & Demaria Accept World Championship Medals

The 2007 FIM Off-road Awards took place in the affluent setting of Monaco and the ‘Salle de Etoiles’ last Saturday and Yamaha De Carli’s Antonio Cairoli and Yamaha Demaria’s Yves Demaria proudly accepted their silverware for MX2-GP and MX3-GP world championship success respectively. In front of more than 400 guests that included former world championship legends like Jean-Michel Bayle and Roger de Coster, winners from both the Motocross and Supermoto World and European stages were given their accolades by the FIM and Youthstream.

Iddon & Hodgson Are Crowned Champions At Silverstone

The Final round of the British Supermoto Championship held at Silverstone on a heavily modified Stowe Circuit, saw some decent weather, with both the Saturday afternoon qualifying and Sunday’s racing held in breezy, but otherwise almost perfect conditions. Saturday qualifying saw several riders heading the provisional leader board, as the times tumbled on the flowing Northamptonshire tarmac, Christian Iddon (Factory Aprilia SXV550) set the expectations for the weekend as he produced the winning 1.06.21 lap, to claim the overnight Pole Position.

2007 British & National Supermoto Championships - Silverstone Preview

The smallest ever Suzuki off-road two wheeler to feature a four-stroke engine is being released in the UK later this month, as the DR-Z70 junior bike arrives at authorised Suzuki dealers. Joining Suzuki’s junior fun range, the new DR-Z70 brings the four-stroke experience to first-time riders, with a novice friendly 3-speed automatic transmission in a lightweight, easy to manouvre chassis.

British & National Supermoto Championships - Three Sisters Race Report

Round five of the British Supermoto Championship held at Three Sisters Race Circuit, at last saw some decent weather, with both the Saturday afternoon qualifying and Sunday’s racing held in breezy, but otherwise almost perfect sunny conditions. Saturday qualifying was an amazingly close affair, with several riders heading the provisional leader board, until Sam Warren (SR Off-Road Aprilia SXV550) punched in a blinder of a lap just before the session close, to claim the overnight Pole Position. Coming on the heels of his overall victory at Teesside at round 4, it appeared that Warren had laid the gauntlet down to the rest of the field, but in the end, his weekend did not quite go to plan.

British & National Supermoto Championships - Three Sisters - Preview

British & National Supermoto Championships - Teesside Race Report

Teesside Autodrome near Middlesbrough was the setting for round 4 of the British Supermoto Championship, the North East motor sport venue looking forward to hosting a round of one of 2007’s most hotly contested motorcycle racing series. Despite several forced alterations to the original proposed track layout just before the event, the circuit still presented a new and challenging venue for riders in this year’s series.

Off Road Bike Bill Dies- Great News Say Motorcycle Retailers!

‘The collapse of the Off Road Vehicles (Registration) Bill is a victory for common sense,’ according to Mike Owen, head of the Motorcycle Retailers Association,’ (MRA), a part of the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF). Graham Stringer MP, who originally proposed the bill has been forced to withdraw it due to opposition by Government, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), and lobbying against the bill by the MRA and other organisations.

Ride off-road in sunny Portugal

Motorcyclists who have experienced a BMW Off-Road Skills course can now take on a new challenge by joining a World of BMW nine-day off-road tour in Portugal this September. Portugal is blessed with sunshine and magnificent off-road trails, and BMW has enlisted the help of a local guide for this special motorcycle tour, which encompasses some of the best trails on the fringe of the Serra da Estrela mountain range in northern Portugal.
