Chris Walker stormed to the front row of the grid for the 7th round of the ViSK British Superbike Championship today at Mallory Park in Leicestershire. Back to his battling best Walker on the Motorpoint Hendersons Yamaha R1 came to within 2 tenths of his first pole position of the season finishing in 3rd alongside Tommy Hill Worx Suzuki and Leon Camier Airwaves Yamaha.

Dan Linfoot the NorthWest 200 Coca Cola Yamaha Supersport rider suffered a broken foot in the late stages of the first qualifying session here a Snetterton. Dan had been running in pole position throughout the session and was working on a good race set up when on the final lap Dan suffered a crash and sustained a badly broken foot.

With the sunshine set for the weekend the crowds came in their thousands and as always Thruxton delivered the classic high speed battles they expected.

The Motorpoint Henderson's Yamaha team of Chris Walker and Graeme Gowland worked hard to find set up that was comfortable for a fast time around the ultra fast Thruxton circuit. The race pace will be considerably different from qualifying and with the hot track temperatures tyre management will come into play.

The Rob Mac Racing teams moved south to the ultra fast Thruxton circuit in Hampshire. With an average speed in excess of 110mph Thruxton is the fastest circuit on the British Championship tour.

The long wait is over for the taste of champagne for the Motorpoint Henderson Yamaha team. Local boy Chris Walker battled hard for his first podium of the season, two classic Walker electric starts in both races gave Chris the results he and the Rob Mac team deserved.

The NW200 Coca Cola Yamaha team and Michael Rutter have agreed mutually to part company, both parties accepted they have struggled to get the best out of each other and feel it would be every ones best interest to part on good terms.

More NW200 Success For McGuinness

Morecambe's John McGuinness ensured he had another successful day's racing at the International North West 200 road races on Saturday when he finished third in the opening Superbike race for yet another podium finish. The HM Plant Honda rider also took a close fourth in the Supersport race and finished sixth on the Padgetts Honda in the 250cc race.
