01 July 2008
After a tentative return from injury at the previous round of the Suzuki GSX-R 750 European Cup in Germany two weeks ago, British teenager Tommy Bridewell defied the heat to record a battling eighth place finish at Misano last weekend. After some technical problems in qualifying saw him languishing down in 14th place on the grid, the 18 year old from Etchilhampton near Devizes in Wiltshire battled through the field after breaking his leg in April and despite a couple of minor errors, eventually took a fine top eight finish at the Italian circuit.

Walker finished close to the two riders in front but was just unable to pass them before the flag. Each rider had endured a tough qualifying session, but called on their race craft and experience to get them moving forward when points were up for grabs.

16 June 2008
PSG-1 Kawasaki Corse riders Makoto Tamada and Régis Laconi finished each Nürburgring well in the points, with Tamada scoring the day’s best individual result of ninth in race one. The return to the Nürburgring started off as a tough challenge for Tamada and Laconi, who were 21st and 13th on the grid respectively, but they battled hard in each race, and to great effect, pushing themselves up in the championship rankings. In race one Tamada rode strongly in the early laps and made up several places on the first lap itself, eventually going into the top ten for the first time since Assen.

16 June 2008
Yamaha World Supersport Team rider Broc Parkes came within a few laps of winning the twice delayed and once restarted WSS race at the Nürburgring in Germany, as the Australian rider led for 15 of the 19 laps, running a pace none could match for long periods. He was forced to slow in the final few minutes of the race, and went from a win to a third place finish as a result. His team-mate Fabien Foret, who had started tenth on the grid, ran out a comfortable fourth after a fight with Craig Jones, having lost contact with the leading group in the early laps.

After another good start in the second part of the race the Australian rider collected the win after a determined chase on Broc Parkes. Pitt had another good start but it was fellow Australian Broc Parkes who was leading the field for most of the race with an impressive pace. With Yukio Kagayama unable to start because of a broken bone in his left hand, Fonsi Nieto was the sole Suzuki Alstare representative. He struggled throughout the race but hung on determinedly to finish eighth.

Another day of unstable weather conditions made for two interesting races today at the Nuerburgring. Haga eventually took the win with Bayliss coming home in second and Neukirchner in third. Team-mate Michel Fabrizio also got a great start in Race 1 and battled for third place during the first half of the race before gradually slipping back slightly to conclude the race in eventual seventh position. Ducati Xerox Reserve Provisional Places on Front Two Rows
14 June 2008
After a wet free practice session in the morning, factory riders Troy Bayliss and Michel Fabrizio (Ducati Xerox) were relieved that the track had dried somewhat before the afternoon's first qualifying session, in which Bayliss achieved the second fastest time and Fabrizio the eighth. With neither rider ever having seen this track until their arrival here yesterday, changes to set-up were made throughout the day with each rider facing their respective difficulties. It was no surprise that, aside from Bayliss, the fastest riders of the day were Corser, Checa and Neukirchner, the few to have ridden the track before (though alterations have been made to the track in recent years). Having said that, the nine fastest riders all recorded times within a second of each other and so this promises for some close racing over the weekend.

14 June 2008
HANNspree Ten Kate Honda rider Carlos Checa finished provisional third on the grid onboard his Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade at the opening day of qualifying at the German Nurburgring. Checa improved his pace in the last leg of the session and was the first rider to dip under the 1’58s mark. He remained in the top three till the end of the session and concluded the day in a best of 1'57.878, which puts him 0.6 seconds behind provisional pole sitter Troy Corser. Riders Arrive at Cold & Wet Nurburgring
12 June 2008
As the World Superbike paddock is being set up at the Nurburgring on what proved to be an extremely cold, wet and windy Thursday, the main media interest surrounded the recent performances of 35-year-old Spanish rider Carlos Checa (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) and 25-year-old Max Neukirchner (Alstare Suzuki) from Germany, currently lying second and third in the championship standings. Checa came away from the last round at Miller Motorsports Park with a double win and 50 points and this, coupled with two DNF finishes and zero points for the championship leader Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox), have helped to reshuffle the cards in the points standings, even though Bayliss still has a 28 point lead. Neukirchner, who had scored his first WSBK win two rounds before at Monza, has twice since been on the podium in second place.
