CJ Riders Fund Ready for Thruxton
17 April 2008
After the snow swept Brands Hatch, the CJ Riders Fund still had a very successful weekend at what was meant to be the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Six inches of snow put a stop to the racing on Sunday, (6th April) and the meeting has now been rescheduled for May. The CJ Fund used the weekend to their advantage and had a practice run with their new CJ Unit, which worked perfectly and was situated in an ideal spot at Brands. The new CJ Promo Girls worked exceptionally hard throughout the weekend despite the freezing conditions, they still plugged away in their lycra suits collecting monies, look out for them at Thruxton!

2008 HM Plant Honda Team Unveiling Heralds A ‘New Era’
21 March 2008
2008 marks the start of a new era for the all-conquering HM Plant Honda team in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. At a ceremony at the Sports Café in Newcastle yesterday, the 2008 team was unveiled, a team that hopes to take a clean sweep of the major British road-racing championships. In the Superbike class, HM Plant Honda has two new riders in Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow, a new machine in the awesome Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade and they will be using new Pirelli control tyres. All of this adds even more spice and excitement to the championship, which this year will be held over 12 rounds between April and October. Running alongside the championship will be the Supersport and Superstock series in which Steve Brogan will be aiming for success in both classes. Last season Brogan did well as a substitute in the Supersport class and was second in the Superstock series – he aims to go one better this year.

Honda Ready For TT Celebrations
25 May 2007
Honda is looking forward to this year’s 100th Anniversary TT races with one of the strongest line-ups ever in both solo and sidecar classes. In 1954, the company’s founder Soichiro Honda vowed to take part in the Isle of Man TT races and five years later on May 5th 1959 a party of four riders and five engineers set foot on Manx soil to begin Honda’s love-affair with the Tourist Trophy races. The first year saw a sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth place claiming the Manufacturers’ title, but just two years later Honda won its first race in the hands of legendary rider Mike Hailwood. Its riders had dominated practice for the 1961 Ultra Lightweight TT and Hailwood led a sweep of five Hondas in the top six placings, which he followed-up with a win in the Lightweight TT later the same day.
