Hegarty Fifth for Co-ordit in Henderson Cup
26 August 2008
The August Bank Holiday visit to the picturesque circuit of Cadwell Park proved a tough test for BSB newcomers Co-ordit Racing this weekend (23rd-25th August). The 2.18 mile Lincolnshire circuit is notorious for its compact and intimate nature, the track itself providing the narrowest strip of asphalt that the British Championship riders face each season. The tight, narrow and twisting characteristics provided a stiff challenge to team owner Pete Bradshaw and his mechanics to set up Dean Ellison’s Co-ordit Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbikes.

Ben Wilson Second at Cadwell
26 August 2008
Ben Wilson rode to a fine second place in the Henderson R1 Cup, following up with a fifth in the Metzeler National Superstock race at his home track of Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday. Going in to the Cadwell round of the R1 Cup, Wilson was leading the Autumn Cup by nine clear points and was hoping for another win in the series to extend his lead further. But the overall series leader Jon Kirkham was in fine form and dominated the weekend throughout practice and qualifying to claim pole position for the start of the planned 12-lap race.

Cadwell Next for Ben Wilson
18 August 2008
Following his maiden win in the Henderson R1 Cup at Knockhill recently, Ben Wilson goes into his home round at Cadwell Park on Monday full of confidence that he can repeat his performance to extend his lead in the Autumn Cup and edge nearer to Jon Kirkham who leads the overall championship in which Ben currently holds the runner up spot some 18 points adrift. The Boston rider will also contest the eighth round of the Metzeler National Superstock championship to try and make up ground after his crash at Knockhill. It's been a race against time to get the bike up and running in the short period of time since he returned from the Scottish circuit. The bike was more badly damaged than first thought and had to be sent away to have the chassis checked and straightened and the forks replaced plus new livery made up for a new set of fairings.

Ellison Takes on Britain... And the World...
06 August 2008
Round eight of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship moves north of the border this forthcoming weekend when the series makes its annual visit to the Knockhill circuit in Fife. Looking to capitalise on a fantastic performance at the previous round at Oulton is Hydrex Bike Animal Honda ace James Ellison, who secured his second podium placing of the season last time out and is hoping to continue his good form in Scotland. 27 year old Ellison, from Kendal in Cumbria, has not visited the 1.3 mile hillside track which overlooks the Firth of Forth for four years but with recent developments aboard the Shaun Muir Racing Honda Fireblade, he is expected to again be running at the front from the word go.

Ben Wilson Scores More Points at Oulton
23 July 2008
Ben Wilson rode to three points-finishes at Oulton Park over the weekend, securing a 7th and 11th in the two Metzeler National Superstock races plus a fantastic second place in the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup, which he dedicated to his good friend Ollie Bridewell who died exactly a year ago on Sunday in a racing crash at Mallory Park. Qualifying for the Superstock races were run in mixed weather conditions with the first session taking preference in the dry, placing Wilson in 10th place just over a second away from pole. The Boston rider’s hopes of improvement were dashed when the heavens opened for the final session leaving Wilson to start both races from a third row grid position.

Another Oulton Podium for Ellison
21 July 2008
Following on from his superb podium finish at the same track back in May, Hydrex Bike Animal Honda rider James Ellison repeated the feat when he took the 1000cc Shaun Muir Racing Honda Fireblade to another second position at Oulton Park in Cheshire today. Starting from row two on the grid, the 27 year old from Kendal in Cumbria made some radical changes to his bike overnight and in the early stages of the opening race, led the field as he mixed it up with the Championship front runners. Going into the final laps, he was well placed but eventually had to settle for second place as the handling of his bike deteriorated.

Eighth for Ellison at Oulton Park
20 July 2008
Hydrex Bike Animal Honda rider James Ellison will start tomorrow's two Bennetts British Superbike Championship races from the second row of the grid after posting eighth fastest time in qualifying today at Oulton Park in Cheshire. With mixed weather conditions throughout the day, luckily the 50-minute Swan Combi 50 Roll for Pole qualifying session stayed dry and Ellison ran well up on the time sheets for most of the session before having to settle for eighth in the closing throes.

Co-ordit Racing Head to Oulton
18 July 2008
The second half of the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike season begins in earnest for Co-ordit Racing at Oulton Park this weekend (18th-20th July). Round 7 sees the second visit of the season to the picturesque 2.69 mile Cheshire circuit. Co-ordit Racing’s Superbike rider, Dean Ellison will be looking to leave with points on the board rather than the injuries he suffered as an innocent victim back in May.The experienced rider was collected by Steve Mercer’s bike in the closing stages of the second race, scuppering any chance of points and setting the Leicester-based rider back a round through injury. Now, with a string of point-scoring results under his belt, Dean is eager to start moving towards the top ten and up the championship leader board.

Team Co-ordit Head to Mallory
26 June 2008
Co-ordit Racing heads to Mallory Park, Leicestershire, this weekend to contest the sixth round of the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike Championship (27-29 June). As one of the team’s local circuits, expectations will be high, as will local support, for Dean Ellison and Pete Bradshaw to show their mettle as they battle for points around the testing 1.41 mile circuit. Now based in Leicester, Mallory Park has become a local circuit for Dean Ellison, who makes his first visit to the circuit since 2006. Recovered from injury, Dean has set himself high targets ahead of the weekend and will use his world and domestic race experience to elevate his Co-ordit Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 into the top ten for the first time this season. With two long 30-lap races scheduled for Sunday, Dean will use the full potential of the Co-ordit Racing Yamaha’s power to challenge at the sharp-end.

HM Plant Honda Hopes for Success at High-Speed Snetterton
12 June 2008
HM Plant Honda heads to Snetterton in Norfolk this weekend as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship meets for round five of the 12-round season. The flat, former airfield circuit offers high-speed action thanks to the long Revett Straight as well as some challenging corners. Both HM Plant Honda Superbike riders have been off to Japan in the break to test for their forthcoming race at the Suzuka Eight-Hour, as well as taking part in last weekend’s Suzuka 300km race. Meanwhile Steve Brogan has been training hard in the gym so he’s in the best physical shape for the weekend. In the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship, Steve intends to close the gap on series leader Glen Richards, while continuing to dominate in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 series.

Double Podium for Wilson at Donington
27 May 2008
Former British Superbike rider Ben Wilson rode to a double podium finish in his two Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup races at Donington Park on Bank Holiday Monday and very nearly made it a hat trick as he led the Metzeler National Superstock round from the off. But after encountering brake problems with the Ben-Wilson-Racing Yamaha R1 he dropped back to finish seventh. The R1 Cup enjoyed a double header at Donington to make up for the disappointment of the cancelled season opener at Brands Hatch earlier in the year. Grid positions for the opening race of the day were carried forward from Brands with Wilson placed on row two and he was itching for the race to get underway.

He eventually finished third. Meanwhile, HM Plant Honda team-mate Leon Haslam was hampered by a poor start, which saw him down in 10th at the end of the first lap.

Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship
06 May 2008
A determined Steve Brogan shrugged off the effects of a heavy cold to take the win in the opening race of day at Oulton Park today (Bank Holiday Monday). Racing at his local circuit, the Liverpudlian held off an intense race-long challenge from Raceways Yamaha pilot Jon Kirkham, winning by 0.199 seconds and taking a maximum fifty points score from the first two races of the season. Kirkham had placed his Raceways R1 on pole yesterday, after he and Brogan battled throughout the free practice and qualification sessions for the premier starting spot. Brogan also suffered a DQ from Q1, after setting fastest time (Failure to attend at Parc Ferme).

Two Top Fives for Ben Wilson at Oulton
06 May 2008
Ben Wilson was in fine form at Oulton Park when he rode to fifth place in the Metzeler National Superstock championship following up with a dazzling ride to third in the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup on Monday. It was Wilson’s first outing in the Superstock series and he began the weekend by posting fourth place in first qualifying with a fast time of 1m. 40.956s – just over a second away from pole setter Jon Kirkham. Second qualifying saw the pace hot up and the Boston rider was relegated to eighth place for a second row start to Monday’s 15-lap encounter. Despite dropping to the second row Wilson was still only a second away from pole and was confident he could match the times of the front-runners.
