RM-Z450 Suzuki riders Ivan Tedesco, Steve Ramon and Kevin Strijbos climbed the podium this afternoon at the 60th Motocross of Nations held at a sunny Matterley Basin circuit near Winchester in England. Tedesco defended his status as World Champion as part of Team USA while Ramon and Strijbos assisted Belgium to the position of runners-up.
MX1 World Champion Stefan Everts and vice-World Champion Antonio Cairoli gave Yamaha a 100% score in the MX-des-Nations event. MX1 World Champion Stefan Everts ended his career by guiding Team Belgium to second place today at Matterley Basin in Great Britain for the 60th Motocross of Nations.
With a points total of 15, The American team was the overall best of the MX of Nations at Matterley Basin, Winchester. Followed by Belgium with 22 points and New Zealand on the 3rd spot with 35 points. The American team, with James Stewart on the KX450F-SR, and Ryan Villoporto on the KX250F-SR, had the most consistent results. Stewart had two 2nd results in Race 1 and Race 3. The rookie Villoporto showed some impressive racing and scored a 2nd and 3rd position in his races and won the overall MX2 classification.
Many Kawasaki riders from all over the world are defending their country at the Matterley basin track near Winchester for the MX of Nations. We can say that they started with great results already during Saturdays Qualification.
