Breugelmans Second in Mud-Soaked Croatia MX3
12 June 2008
KTM racer Sven Breugelmans of the JMRacing Team battled through mud and rain to finish second behind championship leader Christian Beggi in what turned out to be a one-race Round 7 of the MX3 World Championship. Pouring rain already dominated Saturday's training transforming the track unto a quagmire that made it virtually impossible for riders to complete a good lap in free training. Organizers decided to delay qualifying until Sunday but more rain overnight made conditions even more complex. In the end qualifying was scrapped and the results of Saturday's skimpy free practice were used to determine the line-up at the gate on Sunday. Breugelmans benefited from this decision and was allocated first place at the starting gate.
