Sylvain Guintoli, Alice Team rider, has declared yesterday: “Tomorrow I want and I can obtain the best result of the season so far”, and so he has done. Surely the French rider isn’t fully satisfied by the eleventh position obtained today, but he consider it a good starting point for the intense work of the next two months, with five races in seven weeks. His race has started with difficulties as he was touched by another rider and lost four positions in the second turn of the race, but after a few laps Sylvain found again the good rhythm registered in the warm up finishing just one position from the top ten. Another story for his team-mate, Toni Elias, who after the improvements seen in China doesn’t find back the right confidence to push at the maximum his Ducati Desmosedici GP8 SAT. During the race both Dovizioso and Alex de Angelis came through the pack and the JiR Team Scot rider was then fighting with Loris Capirossi for seventh position. 02 June 2008
Starting from 11th position in the sun at Mugello, Yuki Takahashi started fast today in the 250cc GP and within a few corners was up to fifth position. The JiR Team Scot rider in warm-up showed his speed and intent for the race by setting the eighth fastest time and soon in the race he was in contact with Luthi and Debon fighting for the third and final podium position. Always Yuki was pushing at the maximum in the corners, as he had to try and snatch back the metres he was losing on the kilometre long straight. Sadly, just four laps from the end of the race, Yuki fell as he hit the brakes for one of the corners. Despite the lack of a result, Yuki proved himself once more, riding the whole race on the limit, showing the skill and deter mination of the Japanese rider.
