Teka Suzuki Dominate Balen International

It was a busy weekend of race action for the Teka Suzuki WMX1 team as they took in National championship action in both Belgium and Germany. Friday's Balen International saw a display of dominance from the factory RM-Z450 mounted riders as Ken de Dycker won two motos while his team mate Steve Ramon won the other. Unfortunately crashes suffered by both riders meant that neither rider took the overall win.

Ramon Aims to Increase Series Lead

Wearing the series leader's red plate for the first time this season, Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 rider Steve Ramon enters round 12 of the FIM MX1 Motocross World Championship at Loket in the Czech Republic looking to extend his points lead while his on-form team-mate Ken De Dycker is expecting to stand on the podium for the second week in a row after his stunning second place overall at the Grand Prix of Belgium. For the reigning MX1 World Champion the Grand Prix of Czech Republic has not been a happy hunting ground in the past but with his confidence riding high he's more than ready to make amends for past results and is hoping to win - or at the very least podium - in Loket on his factory RM-Z450.

FIM MX & Supermoto to be Broadcast Live on Freecaster.tv

The FIM Motocross World Championship promoter Youthstream and the online broadcaster Freecaster.tv have reached an important agreement to broadcast the series for free live and delayed on www.freecaster.tv from 2009. This new partnership will bring important benefits to the sport, courtesy of the Internet streaming free of charge, Motocross and SuperMoto will become a lot more accessible to accommodate all the current fans and to attract new audiences.

Mixed Fortunes for Kawasaki at German MXGP

Livia Lancelot regained the red plate in the Women’s World Championship finishing second overall in Teutschental while Sébastien Pourcel took fifth place in the MX1 class and is fifth in the standings
Round eight of 15 in the MX1 series the German Grand Prix has been one of the hottest so far and most of the riders struggled with the hardpack layout. Second in the qualifying session on Saturday Sébastien didn’t really take advantage of his good position and was fifth after one lap in race one.

Lancelot Grabs Pole at MX Penultimate Round in Teutschenthal

The penultimate round of the Women’s Motocross World Championship begun today in Teutschenthal in eventful conditions for the Championship standings. Series leader Katherine Prumm is out with a broken left collarbone and with third placed Ashley Fiolek also missing round four, the points standings might change dramatically after Sunday’s two motos as Livia Lancelot will start from pole.

De Dycker on MX1 Pole with Storming Final Lap in Germany

Day one of the German Grand Prix at Teutschenthal was a dry one and hosted some good qualifying action both in the MX1 and MX2 classes. Ken de Dycker took the eventual pole in MX1 while archrivals Tony Cairoli and Tyla Rattray won the qualifying heats to take the best two spots on the gate of tomorrow’s MX2 Grand Prix. In the Women’s Motocross World Championship qualifying session Livia Lancelot led from home riders Maria Franke and Larissa Papenmeier.

Women's Motocross World Championship in Germany

After their latest appearance in St. Jean d’Angely, the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship riders are back to action in Germany for the penultimate round of the series. The latest news is that series leader Katherine Prumm of Yamaha Van Beers will sit out of this weekend’s German round as she broke her left collarbone; the two time World Cup winner’s 2008 season started with a broken right ACL but Prumm could ride through the pain to collect the red plate at round three in St. Jean. With the Kiwi out, current runner up Livia Lancelot of GPKR is looking forward to taking back the red plate which she was snatched by Prumm at St. Jean, which was a bitter home event for Lancelot.

Prumm Title Ambitions Thwarted by Broken Collarbone

Double Women’s World Cup winner and current leader of the inaugural FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship, Yamaha Van Beer’s Katherine Prumm, will miss this weekend’s Grand Prix of Germany at Teutschenthal after breaking her left collarbone while training in Belgium on Tuesday. The 20 year old suffered a relatively slow speed tumble on her YZ250F but the impact was enough to force a complicated fracture to the collarbone and the New Zealander underwent surgery immediately to have a plate inserted and fragments of bone cleaned from the break.

Laier Wins Round Two of Women's WMX

The second round of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship was an eventful one today at Mantova, where the series had never been before. KTM Germany’s Stephanie Laier came back to action with style after she missed round one in Bulgaria due to a damaged ligament in her right shoulder. Laier took a clean sweep in Mantova, winning from Yamaha Van Beers Racing’s Katherine Prumm and Suzuki Inotec’s Larissa Papenmeier. The latter came back to the podium after the last moto crash in Sevlievo, leaving her with a damaged right foot. Livia Lancelot was fourth ahead of Ashley Fiolek.

In occasion of the second round of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship taking place this weekend at Mantova, Italy, the FIM’s CFM (Commission for Women in Motorcycling) travelled to the Italian venue to meet the series’ riders and the rest of the World Championship collective, as also the MX1/MX2 Lovemytime Grand Prix of Italy is included in the weekend’s schedule. Lancelot Takes First Career Win at Women's World MX

Livia Lancelot took her first ever victory today at Sevlievo, under mixed weather conditions which made the second moto a lot harder than the first, as the course got more slippery. 27,000 spectators attended this opening round of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship which will move to Italy next week for the second of five rounds. Having started the FIM Women’s World Cup in 2005 as a privateer, current GPKR rider Livia Lancelot took her first overall win today, at round one of the first edition of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship. Ending runner up to Suzuki Inotec’s Larissa Papenmeier in the first moto, Livia took victory in heat two as her rival crashed and injured her right foot.

Today was a rainy day in the area of Sevlievo, with the sun coming out only at mid afternoon and the trackbeing currently wet. Prumm Injures Knee Before First WMX-GP

FIM Women’s MX World Championship Starts at Sevlievo

After the quick development of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Cup throughout the years following the first edition in 2005, the series was upgraded to World Championship at the end of 2007. It will see its first World Championship round get underway this weekend at Sevlievo, Bulgaria, representing a brand new course for the women riders. Katherine Prumm enters Sevlievo holding the red plate but will face a strong opposition in the likes of arch rival Livia Lancelot, Maria Franke, Larissa Papenmeier and lots more. After winning the 2006 and 2007 World Cups onboard a Kawasaki machine, Kiwi Katherine Prumm is ready to start the 2008 season inside the Yamaha Van Beers Racing Team.
